at some recent time in my life, I had an aha moment with jumps v. jumped, so I was on to that question like a shot
I didn't see an "s" in any of the other words in the sentence, so I went with "jumps".

I was one of the big group of dummies (35%) that thought "bailout" was a phrase...
Since the question asked for a phrase, I answered "bank bailout". Does that make me a double dummy?

Re: LL79: For the LLamas

Did everyone overthink the Milo question? Louvre + Aphrodite sculpture = Venus de Milo. Milo must be the island. I lost to a 9(5) because I gave this question a zero. I guess I would have lost to a 9(6) if my opponent got it... but that just feels inevitable instead of being bad defense on my part....

Re: LL79: For the LLamas

I lived in Canton, Michigan, for more than 30 years. The township, which was created in the 1830s, was named for Canton, China. The adjoining township was named for Nanking, but renamed for the Westland shopping mall and incorporated as a city in the 1950s. Earlier this year, I suggested to a friend...

Urban Meyer will retire as coach of the Ohio State University football team. Meyer won the national championship at Ohio State and earlier won the national championship at Florida. The only other coach to win national championships at multiple schools is Nick Saban (LSU, Alabama).

Like a lot of people, when I saw Latka, I immediately said taxi driver (I am familiar with the show but never really watched Taxi ). Kaylee (from Firefly ) gave me a little pause, but I only watched that show through once, and I wasn't sure if that was her pre-ship job. Puddy from Seinfeld , I thin...

Re: LL79: For the LLamas

I've finally figured out how to win LL matches: Get q's in your good categories wrong and q's in the your bad categories correct. Case in point yesterday where I got sports and film wrong and lit/WH correct (as well as pneumatics) leading to a 6(3) - 3(3) win. For the fencing question I was thrown ...

I thought that since bronze was an alloy, it would come after iron. Cost me.
I have heard this from a lot of people, including my own brain. You're in good company.

Best of luck, everyone!

By the way, my new hometown of Ann Arbor, Michigan, is the headquarters city of LLamasoft (yes, two capital L's), a supply chain management company. And the Blue Llama Jazz Club will open downtown in the near future.

I've been wanting in on this for quite some time, but I don't know anyone well enough to get a recommendation. *shrug*
If you're serious, shoot me a PM.
You beat me to it. Good for you.

If anyone else here would like a LL recommendation, please PM me.

After 12 non-rookie seasons, I finally finished in the promotion zone! That means, assuming none of us get moved, I will get to face boardies BoK, BigDaddyMatty, and Blue Lion (that's a lot of B's) next season. 8-8-8 for me this season with the last day deciding where I get a 9 in my record.
I ended the season with the wonderfully symmetrical record of 8-8-9.

Not on the trail, but I agree, it's a great facility. One contestant mentioned Buffalo Trace implicitly this week: Reese mentioned having tried Pappy Van Winkle, which is distilled by Buffalo Trace.
