I had a streak of 15 broken when I said David Cameron for Thursday.

Never seen Jersey Boys or The Handmaid's Tale.

Re: 2019 Current Events Study Guide

This is Spike Lee's first nomination, which is unbelievable. It's his first for Best Director, but he was nominated for Best Documentary for Four Little Girls . It may also be worth noting that he received an Honorary Oscar in 2015 and that he also got a nomination for 1989 for writing Do the Right...

       :( Second 5/5 week in a row and an overall streak of 12, which is possibly my longest streak ever. I've heard of chateaubriand before, but there was no way I was going to drudge that up in time. Never seen any version of The Seven...

I should've had El Dorado, but my brain completely froze and I couldn't recall it in time. I'd love to try and binge The Sopranos someday, but for now, I'v...

:?: :( :(  :( :( :( This is the first time since the week of November 5th that I didn't go 4/5. Spoiled on a clue yet again, this time on Monday's clue. Thought "peace through strength" referred to Woodrow Wilson's policy of collective security, so I went straight to him. Went wit...

Host of the Oscars on February 24, 2019 (That means for movies released in 2018): Kevin Hart
Comedian George Wallace posted a thread on Twitter on how he'd host the Oscars, and I gotta say, I wish it were him instead.

I've never seen E.T. but this was still an instaget for me. I once read that Princess Diana cried at the end of that movie and that "dry eye" part of the clue brought it to mind. The champ is doing great. I am a merry fan of Mary Ann. I couldn't have said it better myself. Well played.

 :( :?:      I was spoiled on Wednesday's clue ( Jeopardy 's Twitter account strikes again!). I've heard of the musical and possibly would have gotten it, but I can't be sure since Broadway isn't a strength of mine. I can never keep Spanish music...

Re: Friday, November 2, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Has there ever been a champ from Prince Edward Island before? I'm fairly certain he's the first. Oh well, I can live with being the second one day. *knocks on wood* I'm glad I wasn't in his shoes though, because I missed FJ. I said Fiat, knowing it was probably wrong but blanking on names that star...

Tall and tan and young and lovely, the girl from Eponymouse goes walking... Dyson came to mind immediately and I couldn't think of anyone better. Now that I think about it, the Ballbarrow was a bigger TOM than I first realized, since I remember those Dyson commercials touting vacuums with a similar ...

I instantly wrote down Beowulf on Tuesday, forgetting that the clue hinted towards the monster of the story. Cost me a 5/5 week.

Zymase is a NHO from me also.

I drew a complete blank on FJ. I said Mary Poppins just to have something. But at least Alan won, so it lessens the sting a little bit since I've been cheering for him. I'm happy to see he's punched a ticket for the ToC. The $200 clue in THE GOAL OF THE GAME: Identify a person or thing within a sco...

Re: Tuesday, October 2, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Okay, I'm glad I wasn't the only one to misunderstand the FJ category. I guess I can chalk that up to not hearing that word every day. I did manage to get kind of on the right track, but I erred in thinking The Artist was the 2012 Oscar Winner instead of Argo (one year off) and I nearly hit a dead e...
