Re: Friday, March 9, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]
I have read a lot of books about the founding of Apple, so this was a near instaget for me, but I'm not sure what the TOM for this was, besides "late 70s California would have to be a big tech company".

For whatever reason, I thought "weight" precluded buildings and I whizzed past Empire State Building and MSG as not making sense. I said "Staten Island Ferry" just to say something, but that didn't fill big or iconic enough.

FJ was insta-instaget for me, but yes, Pinnochio is a good guess that didn't come to me.

I think I could have gotten to Viola Davis is 2 or 3 minutes, but at the end of 25 seconds I was able to remember that Fences had been based on a play, but not pull the Actor's name.

If you don't know what a perambulator is then this is literally impossible. I mean, you have "Fake place" and "England" so even if you don't have any other pieces of information you could narrow things down to some famous fictional lands created by Brits like: Wonderland, Neverl...

I had just "Neverland" and was worried until I read the wikipedia, but this concluded a very rare 5/5 FJ week for me.
Usually I want to see all clues from all the categories, but I wasn't too sad that the Reality Show category got cut off, as I didn't get the first one right.

I was only thinking of political figures I think, and I said George IV even though I was pretty sure that was too late for him. That broke an 8 game FJ streak for me.

I got FJ fairly quickly - had to spend a sec making sure I remembered the name correctly. I was deciding between "Publisher's sweepstakes" and "Publisher's clearinghouse" but eventually figured it out Can someone listen and hear if the "g"s were pronounced in "You'...

Insta-insta get on this one. I was really happy Rachel went all in on the Animal DD. I didn't know there was a movie, but I only know a few Tom Jones songs, so I came up with that one. I said "O2" for the millenium dome - I saw Monty Python perform there a few years back and I thought that...

Re: Monday, January 22, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]
I called a reversal of "My battle", since that seemed reasonably close enough for translation to "My struggle", but I guess not. The Hansel and Gretl clue was painful. I was proud of getting Vichyssoise based on just the fact that it sounded french and clearly wasn't french onion...

A rare 5/5 week for me.
I've seen all the Bond movies a lot of times each, but only read a few of the books. The Nancy Sinatra song is one of my favorites.

You have to be in some sort of blue oyster cult to have gotten "Atlantic"
I would have liked Gilbert to take a stab at the last clue, even just to make a joke. As a former Chicagoan, I know the Pritzkers well, but even a guess of "Hilton" would have been worth it.

Re: Tuesday, January 16, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]
FJ was hyper-instaget for me, as Bond is one of my specialities. I was humming Nancy Sinatra for most of the Think Music. I was wondering if "St. Patrick" for "St. Patrick's" was going to be reviewed, since the category was about possessives. Glad Gilbert is making it to the TOC ...

I was aware that Manchester by the Sea had something to do with Amazon, and I streamed it using that service, so I got this one.
I was going to say the Camus quote was overvalued, but it was a triple stumper so maybe not.
I also don't think Eminem and Jack White look very similar.

I had Warren and "Erwan". As the contestant's answers were revealed, I was able to come up with Warner as a better guess... not that I have heard of the person. I agree with Alex's Robert Redford surprise. Movies are usually my strongsuit but I did really bad in the marquee names category.

I said "Pliny the Younger". I didn't learn anything about Pliny in school - this is a Jeopardy learned fact for me.
When "Bugs Meanie" was revealed, I said out loud that I thought an Encyclopedia Brown joke was kind of obscure, so I liked that they referenced it later.
