Re: Primetime Celebrity Jeopardy!

When asked for clarification, as in if it should not be gathered from this omission that Bialik is not hosting, Erwich responded: “Correct.” Translation: When asked to commit to hosting this infamous mockery of the Jeopardy concept, Bialik replied, "despite appearances to the contrary if you'v...

The amount of armchair quarterbacking on this board never ceases to amaze me.

People don't understand that games don't occur under perfect conditions.

Re: Mayim Bialik next to go?

Saying "I choose to dress modestly so I won't get hit on" is not nearly the same as saying "they got raped because they dressed indecently." You are inserting intent that is not entirely apparent. Just because you interpret a comment a certain way, that does NOT guarantee that is...

Just for all of your information, I am a friend of Nicolle. Please use the pronouns they/them, since that is what they identify as.

Thank you!

Re: Learned League 89 - May/Jun '21

Not to beat a dead horse, but it's very telling that the American Revolution ML decided to stop posting daily recaps since they couldn't handle all the criticism being levied at them. Although it's noble to try and expand the canon, just using random obscure facts probably isn't the best way to do s...

Geeze that's rough. I am sure people will have a nice big argument tonight.

Personally, I think it should be accepted. They've accepted worse before.

FWIW if anyone ever has questions about what was accepted and why or why not, feel free to ask me.

I am one of the sacred few members of the One Day Scorers team! :D

I figured since I couldn't win one, might as well make myself useful.

Re: Learned League 88 - Feb/Mar '21

American Revolution league may be the worst of all time. The questions are disgustingly obscure. The worst part is the smith's description calls it PG-13 and made it seem like it would be accessible. You'd think she would figure out halfway through that the questions were too hard and changed some o...

Re: Fun with GSN's "Master Minds"

I am Armand. :D Thought processes: Q5: I knew Yeltsin. I knew that if I got one more right I would win. I panicked and ignored the little voice in my head. BONUS: I saw geography, my worst subject, and instead of reasoning out the answer (which I actually knew) I just gave up and threw out a random ...

Re: Fun with ABC's "The Chase" [Spoilers]

My thoughts:

1) She reads the Chaser's questions a little slower.

2) The Chaser generally gets longer questions, which naturally eat away at his time.

The car guy is lurking in second just drafting until the last lap to pull the NASCAR move. You don't want to be in the lead the last lap of a NASCAR race or an elite 1500 meter track event. I just hope to be on the same lap and not in the pits :). Never get into a battle of wits with a Sicilian whe...

I am a lowly LL C-rundler, but would be interested in being on a team. I am more pop culture oriented than academically.

How many languages does Leslie Frates speak? Leslie Shannon also speaks quite a few. (I am a good friend, hence the original post.)

Jeopardy! history question

Watching Leslie Shannon play last night, I got to thinking:

When she was a 5x winner was she the youngest female 5x winner at that time? She was in her mid 20's and had just finished college.

If anyone could research this, I would greatly appreciate it. She is a great friend of mine!
