Re: 2016 College Championship Wild Card Standings (SPOILERS) (Game 3 Entered)

In hindsight, I'm wondering if Michael and Kate missed answers that could have easily detracted them for a chance at a wildcard. Plus too, during the first game, I was thinking Adam, or Carissa should have got the final right...because $8,999 is probably THE lowest scoring game in the College Champ...

Re: Monday, November 9, 2015 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

Very entertaining game, Catherine came on strong in Double Jeopardy!, especially after Vaughn's strong's early run! I predicted that the final result would be close, but I figured Dan would be closer in the main rounds, good on him getting Final to stay in contention for the semis. Hopefully this ga...

Re: 2015 TOC Pre-Taping Stats, Predictions & Comments

I see Monday's matchup being close. Dan had the highest average daily winnings of the three, and only missed one Final Jeopardy. Vaughn was the most accurate on the buzzer and on Daily Doubles, while Catherine had the highest Coryat average of the three, and averaged more correct ring-ins. I'm leani...

Re: 2015 TOC Pre-Taping Stats, Predictions & Comments

Assuming Michael isn't eliminated, here's my gold/silver/bronze ranking, but I found it easier to give 4 golds and 6 bronzes given how the stats broke down for me. Of course, this doesn't count the preparation they've all had since their first appearances that will hopefully prove an asset, we won't...

Re: Tuesday, October 27, 2015 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

Nearly an instaget on Final, I just had to quickly run through the alphabet of Ha- last names, and Hancock was beyond obvious (Hamilton never came to mind, I correctly recalled that he wasn't a signer.) If Sean wins tomorrow, he will clinch a TOC spot (unless he manages an 11 day reign and is held o...

Re: Friday, October 23, 2015 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

32 right, pretty good game. I ran the NHL team category, but it helps being an avid hockey fan from Canada. Risky move by Dennis that didn't pay off, but Sean played well! Would "a volcano eruption" have been accepted alone for the clue on the 1908 Olympics move, or would they specifically have want...

Re: Thursday, October 22, 2015 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

Not that in any way I think it will happen : If I am counting correctly, even with only 11 games left before the TOC there is still time to knock out Catherine Hardee, Elliot Yates, and Michael Bilow? If the last episode to qualify is indeed Friday, November 6th and not earlier, then none are mathe...

Re: Wednesday, October 21, 2015 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

32 right, I swept the old hits and scrambled decades categories. I couldn't think of the right African country for the Prime Meridian and said Ireland, gambling that the two were both on the line, but I knew that seemed way too easy. Good game overall, Dennis and Robert both played well LT: Montgolf...

Re: Friday, October 16, 2015 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

32 right, LT on Sunset Boulevard, cataclysm, I.M. Pei, and the L.A. Dodgers. Good competitive game, but Zelda definitely couldn't keep it up in Double Jeopardy compared to the guys Final was an instaget, and the team's name becomes even sillier when you consider that the full name is the Los Angeles...

Re: Thursday, October 8, 2015 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

27 right, and I ran the 21st Century Movies and Sitcom Moms categories. I thought like Matt too on Final. Greek seemed so obvious after they revealed Erik's response. Erik was a strong player, he just ran into a buzzsaw today. As a fellow Canadian, I was pulling for Sameer to get things rolling more...

Re: Tuesday, October 6, 2015 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

On the Turgenev ruling: when Matt answered simply "Turgenev" when "Ivan Turgenev" was the correct answer (given the category was "I.T." Guys), wouldn't Alex normally prompt with a BMS, or a "we need more"? Since he didn't, Matt never got the chance to prove or not that he knew "Ivan". I was expecti...

Re: Tuesday, October 6, 2015 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

Matt's a buzzsaw! As best as I can tell, he's the first 8+ day champion to start his reign with 7 lock wins, and from what I can tell, he's the first Jeopardy! champion with two Coryat scores above $29,000 since Roger Craig (his $77,000 game and his TOC quarterfinal.) If he wins tomorrow, he should ...

Re: 2015 TOC Pre-Taping Stats, Predictions & Comments

That reminds me, I know I've asked this before, but I keep forgetting the answer, who is the Canadian who has won the most games, and who is the Canadian to have won the most money in regular play (not counting for the exchange rate ;) ). (This is my goal when I get on, to top at least one of those...

Re: 2015 TOC Pre-Taping Stats, Predictions & Comments

It should be an exciting tournament, and if we get any pairing of Greg, Matt, and/or Alex in the finals, look out. Just some random observations that I noticed from tracking how the tournament is shaping up: If you contrast the average right & wrong answers per game into percentages, Matt is the cur...

Re: Daytime Jeopardy! cancellations

First time poster, long-time reader here, greetings from Northern Ontario! WDIV (NBC in Detroit, Michigan) used to air a daytime rerun weekdays at 12:30 PM after the news at noon, but they'd stopped in recent years, so if there was a change, it's not new for the Detroit market. I recall them still l...

Re: Thursday, November 20, 2014 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

Tonight's game sorta begs the ? what is the biggest hole anyone has dug out of on Day 2? If memory serves, Michael Falk coming back to beat Vik Vaz in the 2006 ToC finals is either the biggest comeback or close to it. The archive confirms that he was down by 13,400 on day 1, so Arthur still has a s...
