Re: Millionaire 2018-19 Season Discussion [SPOILERS]

When you bring back contestants who were crappy the first time, and then allow them to act like this, you get your show canceled. Eugene is a dear friend of mine and your comments are decidedly not excellent towards him. Ditto. Don't see how that post/point adds to the topic as hand. If you're goin...

Re: TD 420 - Free your mind (Q4-Q5 Revealed)

Gah, I thought Kukoc would be a lock for like 2 or 3. Very nearly thought I'd be at least sharing the lead after I saw #ShareaCoke do considerably better than expected. Just have to hope the endgame draws some favor.

Re: Friday, May 10, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

As a Missourian, I knew that we offset Maine as a free state to keep our Conservative values of human slavery in 1820. I did NOT know that Maine was ever North Massachusetts. But, it wasn't Missouri/Mississippi/Michigan/Minnesota so it fell into WECIB, in spite of the geographic offset. Yeah, 1820 ...

Re: Millionaire 2018-19 Season Discussion [SPOILERS]

Very, very nicely done Andy. Loved how youwere direct in explanations and ensured you verified within your own knowledge for each question. Best way to play, and it was a joy to watch you. You are the best kind of contestant. Logical, precise, and an excellent executioner. Personally, yay for someo...

Re: Millionaire 2018-19 Season Discussion [SPOILERS]

20 meters in 1.63 seconds = how many mph? (18, 28, 38 or 48) Easy at home, love math. Worked this out sans calculator here. First off, 18 is out, Alabama's wide receiver, Henry Ruggs III, is at 22, 23 at top end speed. As for the math, I like relatively round numbers to solve these. I choose to mak...

Re: Fun with Fox's "Mental Samurai"

I love this show for the fun aspects, and some of the feel goods of the players, less so the brain stimuli that others in this genre provide. That said, like Jeopardy!, I find there to be an increasing number of underutilized strategies on pretty much every minigame. One minor complaint is how much ...

Re: Confetti Discussion

Does anybody know if someone has collected the questions and payouts somewhere? I don't have a total list of payouts, but can pretty well tell you what most of them were on a given night, be it from my winnings or what those of friends/family were. Biggest was $5K each for 5 winners, lowest was $2 ...

Re: Confetti Discussion

Finally won again on Friday for $319! All credit to my fantastic team though, wouldn't happen without them. Nice to come out on top after going 9/10 and 8/10 respectively on the last two $400+ games. Confetti scratches my non-Jeopardy itch for good trivia like nothing else. My problem so far is find...

Re: The Official TPH Education Thread (POTENTIAL GAME DAY SPOILERS)

(x-3)*(x-3) Where is THAT coming from?!? Google search FOIL method I knew we'd get to FOIL eventually. That's why I made a point to mention it in my post. I'm half expecting a conspiracy theory or why we're discussing Reynolds wrap in the next post. Still want to see you try to solve the square roo...

Re: The Official TPH Education Thread (POTENTIAL GAME DAY SPOILERS)

Okay step by step. Where do I start? Break it down For x^2±aX+b, like the above example, it's derived from x^2±2ab+b^2. In this specific example, A is -6, B is 9, to express x^2 - 6x + 9. I take it you know 9 has at least whole square root, of 3 (it also has -3, since squaring any negative number w...

Re: Wheel Audition Hints?

Is there a Wheelmobile or other audition schedule available? The official site just says to follow Twitter and my local TV station. Secondary auditions with quizzes are like Jeopardy ones, typically only announced by email, not said to the public, although typically I hear of when they happen. As f...

Re: Wheel Audition Hints?

Hit us up over there (or here in PM) with further questions, am very familiar with the process of which you become a player, perhaps too well. My big tip is for East Coast Wheelmobile events is not to fold your name slip assuming Tracey Wilson is the traveling Vanna (usually is for East Coast event...

Re: Wheel Audition Hints?

At my sister page to JBoard, I wrote a guide about these events, and how to basically get best picked and stand out. It's helped multiple millions of prize money and hundreds of contestants make it to at minimum the next possible step in the audition process, so I'd like to think there's some succes...

Re: Timing of Audition Invite Emails

Reports from auditions (and I think it's born out by the ones I've attended) usually say that there are considerably more men than women in attendance. Granted, anecdotal, but from the audition I had last month in NYC, maybe 25-33% had a prior audition in a group of 19, with one eligible for the TT...

Re: TD 346 - Baseball (Q1 - Q5 revealed)

Seriously, my category, baseball. And I have two sheep through two answers. I knew all of the pitchers and almost all of the gold glovers. Ugh. I'm sure Ichiro won't be a singleton for me on Q3, and I'm guessing that Jim Kaat will be used by quite a few on Q6 as well. **sigh** not sure how to appro...

Re: Thursday, June 1, 2017 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

Oh baby, what a set! If I get The Call, I can only dream of a night like this. 17K Coryat in regular J!, clamming on only one 1K clue, and one miss on an $800 clue in DJ, with a few clams led me to a $49,000 Coryat entering FJ!. Explorers and capitals led to a very positive ending. I know de Brazza ...

42, playing for fun/practice. Missed Samson for Daniel, thinking of the Lion's Den (would have it with Delilah), Manchester by the Sea but knew it'd be popular so had a reasonable punt at this, Bahrain, Goldfinch, The Apollo (this needs to be Pavloved from Harlem Theater), Ailey, Plug and Play (seco...

Re: Wednesday, April 26, 2017 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

Holy cow, I can only wish for a board like this if I get The Call, not to mention buzzing speed seemed strong, outside of ringing a touch early on the rattlesnake clue. Think I had at least a $35K if not $40K Coryat going into FJ, which was, yes, Philadelphia, but then I usually go there once a year...
