Re: Looks Like Jeopardy! Has Resumed Production

There's two schools of thought, we just don't know which one the show will decide on. One is as Opus said, by only changing the host, many people will see it as the same show and keep watching. But the other is that by only changing the host, many people will still see this as "Alex's show" and not...

Re: Looks Like Jeopardy! Has Resumed Production

I further suggest that a new host will not directly coincide with a major change to the set -- they won't want to change multiple familiar aspects of the show at the same time. That's the direction I've been thinking as well. I was surprised that so many people seem to think they'll want to make a ...

Re: Looks Like Jeopardy! Has Resumed Production

Last week, an LA-based contestant was called for a tape date on Aug 3rd. I haven't heard of any other tapings. Hoping my phone rings soon... I will fly, I will drive, I will quarantine as long as required, whatever I need to do I will do - I AM READY! Our best bet is to relocate to LA temporarily a...

Considering Alex didn't say anything, I'm thinking this was a planned airing, and that dedicated to part was added over the weekend.

Re: Looks Like Jeopardy! Has Resumed Production

We are long overdue for a new set. This one has lasted longer than usual. There is no sense in making a major overhaul of the current set until Alex decides to step down. I'm sure they have one designed, and maybe even built and in storage for when the time comes. When Alex does go, a set change an...

Here are some excerpts from what former game show announcer Randy West said on Facebook: "UPDATE: "Wheel" and Jeopardy!"will roll tape for in-studio episodes in two weeks." "The activity in the studio will be very different with no audience, no staff, no announcer and strict limitations on the posi...

Ken Jennings, Brad Rutter, and James Holzhauer on a new version of The Chase? While the show announced three chasers, I wonder if Jennings will because of Masterminds (and not because of scheduling conflicts). So you think he'd turn down a primetime gig on ABC in order to stay on Masterminds? Which...

Requirement #7 does not allow previous contestants back. 7. Any individual who has appeared as a contestant on any version of the Program, and whose appearance was broadcast as part of the Program is not eligible to be a contestant on the Program again. Re: Final Jeopardy! Clues

I spent way too much time trying to decide if Los Angeles is coastal. I guess the part around the airport is. Here's a map of City of Los Angeles neighborhoods for reference. Only four are on the Pacific coast: Pacific Palisades, Venice, Playa Del Rey, and San Pedro. (Other coastal areas shown on t...

Re: Reretaken Down

Is this an appropriate place to mention that Jeopardy might be starting taping again next week? They were set to go, but with cases rising in California it’s up in the air again. do we have confirmation somewhere they were planning to start taping? Contestants were lined up and everything? While it...

I did not dare bump any of the Trebek threads to avoid scaring anyone, but Bergeron seemed to have as many dislikes as likes as a potential J! host. He'd be a good host of J! (or pretty much anything), but he's 65, and I have a feeling they'll be looking for someone younger as an Alex replacement. ...

Re: 2020 Current Events Discussion Thread

The NFL’s Washington franchise is retiring the “Redskins” team name. I'll take advantage of one of my last chances to use an old joke: Why do some people want to change the name of the Washington Redskins? Because they feel that the term "Washington" is offensive. So, apparently the intended replac...

Re: Learned League 85 - Official Thread

The theme lyrics only say “this tropic port”, I would think there’s more than one in Hawaii. Yes, but anyone who has seen the show a lot would know they left from Honolulu. I admit it's a fairly minor plot point in a 50+ year old show, but if you're of a certain age you very likely grew up watching...
