Re: The 2021 Tournament of Champions Is Happening Next Month
Due to his guest hosting tenure, Buzzy will now be ineligible to appear as a contestant again: https://www.jeopardy.com/jbuzz/news-events/jeopardy-champ-buzzy-cohen-guest-host-2021-tournament-champions I wonder how many past Champs they offered this role to who turned it down because of that. Consi...

Re: How Did Dr. Oz Do as Host? (His actual performance, not your opinion of him)
With all the other buzz about a TOC happening, that would be my guess; but what I'm wondering is what they are doing to hold it when they aren't taking contestants from outside California (or did they start with nationwide players again?).

BWA options: https://www.learnedleague.com/thorsten/vote.php?vbwa&88 Good on the selection committee...easily a third of that is gold with smatterings of silver and bronze too. Some clunkers, sure, but feels like there's less than usual. "Hershey's Special Dark Matter" is prob my fav, and being spa...

Re: Learned League 88 - Feb/Mar '21
For the hoops I was nearly certain of the team being the Celtics and pretty sure Larry Bird was one of the guys. I was even more confident that John Havlicek was one and got two points for my Havilcek being accepted. I'd bet the percentage breakdown of correct answers on that one was something like...

Donaudampfschiffahrtselektrizitätenhauptbetriebswerkbauunterbeamtengesellschaft was an organization (perhaps apocryphal) that existed (or not) in pre-WWI Vienna, Austria, involved in the transportation of cargo and passengers on what river? I didn't recognize it, and because of the part stating it ...

Re: Jeopardy 2019 North American Audition Tour
Well it finally happened. I make my debut on Friday March 26th. It has been a very long journey. I auditioned in April 2019. Got the call March 2020 for an April 2020 taping. The taping was moved up to March and then to later in April and then cancelled due to Covid. An email in July told me I was ...

Re: Jeopardy! Interim Host Thread
I know some don't like her, but I think Katie Couric is doing just fine. I like the job she is doing much better than Ken or Mike, and I think if she had the permanent spot, she would just keep getting better.

Before I got to the 'two streets meet' part, I thought the question was going to be about Hopper's painting "Chop Suey". That would have been a happy change of pace from all the Nighthawks questions. Yeah, you'd think "Nighthawks" was the only thing Hopper ever painted. Did you know Hopper did clow...

Today I learned about "Bread and butter" when watching a Popeye cartoon: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bread_and_butter_(superstition)#:~:text=%22Bread%20and%20butter%22%20is%20a,is%20thought%20to%20be%20averted. I don’t get a copy of my answers sent to me, but is there a way to see what I answered for a question?
I think someone mentioned it once, but I can’t find it.

I had no idea K-pop was old enough to have a "modern form", went with Ska since there was a resurgence in that time period. 30 years is a long time in pop music, isn't it? Could you see a similar discussion from the mid-90s, referencing the transition from 'rock and roll' to 'rock'? Congratulations...
