Re: Friday, July 8, 2022 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
Give the contestants a keyboard. It won't solve typos or someone typing at the last minute, but it'll solve a lot of issues, and bring the show into the 21st century. I wouldn't be against this, but I'm confident it could be gamed. Keyboards make noise, other contestants would be able to count keys...

Re: 2022 RIP thread
Ivana Trump, one of Donald Trump's ex-wives, has died of cardiac arrest, age 73. It is said she died from blunt trauma after falling down the stairs. Breaking News: an as-yet unidentified driver and Donald Trump are northbound on I-95 in a white Ford Bronco. Florida state police are following but m...

Re: Friday, July 8, 2022 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
Do we know that they have cameras set up so they can watch the lightpens move and make rulings on that basis? Or are we just assuming? I'd think it would need to be an overhead camera that can zoom in so they can slow down the video and watch as the pen fails to leave a mark even though the stroke ...

Re: Friday, July 8, 2022 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
Is Dodom a thing? no, but that doesn't matter. It looks like it could be an incomplete letter D, and it does not look like a completed letter S. I don't know what standard the judges have developed, but to me, the operative question is whether the contestant wrote down the correct response and reas...

Re: EP Michael Davies announces multiple hosts for multiple versions of Jeopardy! Soon
One other thing I'd like to add. For 2024, I would like TPTB to air Celebrity Jeopardy! Power Players Edition on Sunday nights in Primetime, taped at DAR Constitution Hall. It's been a while since the last Power Players Week. With so many in this country treating politics like sports teams, I'd rat...

Re: 2022 Current Events Discussion Thread
Good idea: buying a load of Forever stamps right before they go up in price. Do you actually still mail things? I'm about to go to the post office tomorrow to mail some government forms. With a paper check. ("You still have paper checks?" I hate that I have to...) We have this thing aroun...

Re: Friday, July 8, 2022 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
Funny all this Ilsa /Elsa talk and no one mentioned the bigger error by Leigh, that in the haste of her crossout she didn’t actually write Sodom on the FJ screen. It’s clearly what she meant but her S was missing some key strokes and I suspect this could’ve been a source of some controversy had Rob...

Re: Tuesday, July 12, 2022 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
It seems that the games are getting less enjoyable by the day. I have always been disappointed when a smart bet wins out over knowledge and personality. I imagine there has been much discussion of this, but is it well known how much the Jeopardy team prepares contestants for FJ? This one was brutal...

Re: Pluto TV to launch 24/7 J! channel
How is a Jeopardy!-length excerpt not considered fair use anyway? It probably would be under the circumstances, but Sony just doesn't want to deal with the letters, I imagine. Can't blame them, except inasmuch as their predecessors should have had the foresight to secure rerun and streaming rights....

Re: Friday, July 8, 2022 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
With the big total Robert Won, won. If he had missed then of course the headline would be, "Robert Won, Lost". After an insanely busy few days, I finally saw this episode, and my first thought was Robert Won won by one. My mind wouldn't get on the word "rise" and it made me thin...

LOL, just LOL at FDR living until 2018. "A memorable 2018 photo showed this president's flag-draped casket, with his service dog Sully beside it" The clue didn't say the president in (the correct) question lived until then, just that the picture was taken then. If anyone is suggested as h...

The purpose of drafting, or following closely behind another car, is to create this between his tail & your nose; so he pulls you along as your draft is reduced substantially "Slipstream" for the $1000 Speedway clue. Judges? I would say that's a better answer than the one they wanted....

Re: Second-chance tourney coming
Somehow a tweet of Simi Landau (@MsLandauReads) landed on my twitter feed, and she has her name listed as "Second Chance Simi". Just thought I'd throw that out there. Cory Anotado has done something similar with his Twitter profile. He’s had that pretty much since the 2CT was announced

Re: J! in the Media
Jimmy McGuire announces his “final lap” with Clue Crew. Unclear if he will continue on with J! https://twitter.com/jimmycluecrew/status/1545140122022133760?s=21&t=gdm11SmfwXYXvo-2r630nA He has had other credits for a while now, I believe Sarah has as well. The others have disappeared, and I can...
