Re: A (perhaps unpopular) suggestion

The NFL players all introduce themselves, why not Jeopardy! players?

Re: TD 351 - ALPHABET SOUP (Qs 1-8 revealed)

I had ytterbium. I knew the highest numbered elements had "placeholder" names, which to me seem less authentic than wolfram. https://www.iupac.org/publications/ci/2 ... _goya.html
You're the judge, though, and judge's decision is final :D

I don't understand why wolfram (now tungsten) is incorrect while ununseptium (now Tennessine) isn't.

Re: TD 351 - ALPHABET SOUP (Qs 1-8 revealed)

The local PBS station had recently rerun the Willie Nelson induction concert or that would have been my dropped question. (Not sure if that's the correct term-it was the program where different performers paid tribute to him by singing his songs.)

Knew it was Hopkins immediately.

I re-watched the "Burnside" answer several times and only heard it pronounced singular. I did not hear a final S at all.
I thought the same thing, so I wonder if the contestant was confused when Alex asks about adding an "s".

Re: TD 347 - Potpourri 100 (Q1 - Q5 revealed)

I hate to nitpick but I'm not sure why my answer was marked incorrect. While the city of Harper's Ferry is in WV, the national park itself is in three states. From the National Parks website, Harpers Ferry National Historical Park is located at the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers in ...

Re: TD 345 - Ken Burns documentaries - Final Scores

Not to be pedantic, as it doesn't change my score, but the book I chose, "Garden of Beasts", a novel by Jeffery Deaver is not Erik Larsen's "In the Garden of Beasts."

Re: What is wrong with Ken Jennings?

Ken's tweets pissed off both the Trump supporters and the SJWs it seems. You guys need to stop being by offended by harmless tweets. Why would single, Jewish women be pissed off? I'm assuming that's what you meant, as I can't imagine why someone would use their very first post to insult people with...

Re: TD 343 - Ragbag - Q1 & Q2 Results

I really must question your definition of "fabric". Muslin, calico, denim, and poplin are all cotton, just different weaves, weights, and dyes. Harris tweed and tweed are both wool. Ramie is, I believe, silk. Strictly speaking, is suede a fabric at all, given that it is not woven or knit? Ramie is ...

Re: TD 340 - Grab Bag (Final results)

After answering this quiz, I realized that I was only hurting myself by not taking the drop! I had only one singleton and dropping any other question would have lowered my score by more than two points.

It was a fun TD. Are you a Penguins fan? Three Penguin related questions made me wonder.

Horror movie and 6-6-6 = "The Omen" when you're sitting at home.
Horror movie and 6-6-6 when you're on stage and it's for money and you're finally on Jeopardy! after years of trying could just as likely = OMG, what horror movie from the 70s got remade?
