Re: LL67 (For the LLamas Among Us)

Wowza, yesterday was tough. I got 0(0), nobody else in my rundle got more than three. With get percentages at 29-46-59-10-5-43 this definitely seems like one of the hardest match days I've ever played.

On another note, "Pussy Riot: The Early Years" did not get a BWA nod.

Re: LL67 (For the LLamas Among Us)

I was so sure that the "only historical importance and very few Jews living there now" part of the clue referred to the Warsaw ghetto that, not only did I guess Poland, I also gave my opponent 0 points for it. If I were to do a video like Lampy it would be to set a bad example. Tomorrow you may get...

Re: LL67 (For the LLamas Among Us)

Montana, which I thought were the easiest questions by far. I was fairly sure Montana was fourth, but have to say I wasn't 100% confident which was bigger between California and Montana. I would have expected more than 6% to guess California. That's a good point, I actually didn't realize how close...

Re: LL67 (For the LLamas Among Us)

I was second in my rundle for DE until yesterday, which I consider myself very proud of because it keeps me solidly middle of the pack instead of close to the bottom which is where I am when ranked by Total Correct Answers. Yesterday, however, I played some of the worst defense ever, though I believ...

Re: LL67 (For the LLamas Among Us)

I submitted very very early in the match day (basically as soon as the questions were available, just because I was up late). The "Hastert" rule question originally said it was "commonly named after what man, who wielded it starting in the mid- 1990s?" I did not know about the Hastert rule but I di...

Re: Thursday, November 19, 2015 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

PSA: Jeopardy! posted a post-game chat video on twitter (at least twitter, not sure about FB) and there are MAJOR EXTREME SPOILERS at the end. DO NOT WATCH if you do not want the results to be spoiled. I suspect they will take it down soon anyway.

Re: LL67 (For the LLamas Among Us)

For some reason the fact that Q6 said the play was renamed The Mouse-Trap made me think it wasn't Hamlet, so I went with Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. I thought that might still be right, but after flipping through my copy of it it looks like they only ever refer to the play as The Murder o...

Re: 10/6/15 College Jeopardy Auditions

I got 34/50. I'm glad the test worked for me this time around and that they were gracious enough to offer a second test. I thought this one felt harder than the one on Tuesday.

One note: question 14, category Brit Lit. Shouldn't it by Irish Lit?

Common enough that it seems to have been a problem on Jeopardy's end.

Lots of people complaining about problems to Jeopardy on Twitter. They say they are looking into it.

Re: 10/6/15 College Jeopardy Auditions

I'm hyped! I was a little worried that I wouldn't be able to take the test because every time I tried to register for it it the webpage gave me an error. I finally contacted the people at Jeopardy and they just said to make a new account, I did, it worked, and all was copacetic.

Re: LL66 (For the LLamas)

Every day when I look at these question I wonder again why I thought I'd be able to put up any sort of fight. TCA = 1 through the first 3 days, DE = 0.231 after I gave my opponent a 7(3) yesterday.

Re: LL66 (For the LLamas)

Oh, I really liked the solar system question. You didn't have to know the exact rankings of the planets' sizes to get to Mars being #7. So, can someone explain to me the use of the phrase "is best known by what name" in that question? Drove me batty. I knew it was Mars, but I spent a lot of (unnece...

Re: LL66 (For the LLamas)

I'd like to give myself a hearty pat on the back for my first 9(6) yesterday. I must thank the SHC for that, though, because I definitely wouldn't have known Fremont just a week ago. Everything else was instaget basically.

Re: LL66 (For the LLamas)

Anybody else never heard of blaxploitation? I was quite surprised at the high get rate on this one. Maybe I'm showing my youth here, but I guess it's just a lacuna I need to fill. I gave my opponent 3 points for it but it didn't matter, still won 6(4)-3(2) (missed node as well).
