Re: TD 398 - MINI-TD #4 - Q3 RESULTS

There I was on the answer form, entering ASCII codes, trying to make an "ñ" appear for Iñárritu, and giving up after 7 or so tries. Turns out it's Alt-0241 (Alt-0225 for the "á" I'd forgotten about), and Robert Zemeckis did win an Oscar. That was lucky. I've mentioned several times on here that Mont...

Re: Wednesday, October 17, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I was half expecting FJ to be about Singapore, possibly with "This island city-state, which definitely isn't part of Indonesia" in the clue. On my way to the right answer, I thought of Oslo, but I knew its name had only changed once in the 20th century and that its population isn't close to 5 millio...

Re: Monday, October 15, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

NHO a fireside chat. I guessed "sensual backrub". j/k, this was an instaget, and that was the joke answer I thought of in the 3 seconds I counted off for the "everybody say this really obvious answer at the same time" thing we sometimes do, and which I (almost) always forget to give a joke answer fo...

For whatever it is or isn’t worth, I negged with “time capsule.” I didn’t recognize it as a bottle + put it together until I’d already “rung in.”
Same, and same. I thought it was some sort of gold(en?) plaque with something stamped on it and a piece of paper.

   :( :( :( :( :( Clammed on Pleiades, for some reason. I don't really think of Domino's as a "fast food" place. Around here, at least, it's delivery only. I may not have won, but I was the only player who managed to score more on the last question than on all the others combined, which is... something.

Thanks, morbeedo, and congrats, Magna!

Aberdeenshire — Singleton! dinghammer Well, I lucked out there. I also didn't know what a Scottish council area was, so I just picked a place and hoped it was one of them. Wild guess like many of us on that one I'm sure. Did you actually include -shire in your response, though? Because I know I did...

I needed him to be a correct answer since he let me down by being Sir Not-Appearing-in-One-Episode-of-Westworld in TD 349.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow, when I find out what a Scottish council area is.

Re: Millionaire 2018-19 Season Discussion [SPOILERS]

Thanks to Mark for posting and cueing the question. Turns out that it was not a typo; the question writers (purposely, I assume) made the question a little easier by making (D) 1 in 7876 rather than 1 in 7776. Too bad she didn't pick up on it (like you did). +1 for the thanks, though that was hard ...

Alex's impression helped me in the sense that it made me realize the character must be someone people do impressions of, and after discarding Rocky, I almost immediately thought of the right character.

Re: Friday, September 28, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

My problem was 30 seconds remaining to try to get myself in trouble as Alex’s reading of the clue gave me a Sly Stallone vibe. I had to assure myself that I had the right movie and the quote was nothing about Paulie being in trouble. When he started the impression, I thought it might be Rocky , but...
