Re: LL81: LearnedLeague

I got moved vertically (downward) and horizontally, as I move from Midland A to Outback B. Jury is still out if the winner of each Rundle gets a free Blooming Onion. I'm a rookie now and know I'm supposed to stfu, but is there any significance to the "horizontal" placement? A through E, I understan...

Re: Tuesday, April 23, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

13/14 Games as runaways = 93% 13/14 correct in FJ = 93% Season 35 correct FJ average for all contestants is: 53.28% So his chance of losing is 7% * 7% * 53.28% = 2.7182% which makes his chance of winning 99.728%. The streak of games probability becomes lower than 50% after 254 games. Get comfortabl...

Does Thorsten even review the 1Ds or MLs? I figured that's what the testing jobs are for.
My understanding is no. When you smith a 1DS, you can provide him notes on what should be accepted and what shouldn't, but ultimately, he is hands off until he runs the scoring machine.

Re: Play along for pancreatic cancer research

23 correct in single Jeopardy, 15 in double, got the Final correct for 39/60. Bumping donation up to $40.

ETA: I gave "flummox" as a response for the $400 clue in "X," which is a synonym for "perplex", so I'm counting it as correct and bumping double to 16 correct. Total is $40.

62 percent get rate with almost 10 percent drinking beer. That has to be up there in terms of easier days in LL history.

Re: LL80: LearnedLeague

Was I foolish to assign 0 points to what I considered a relatively easy question in one of my opponent's better categories? Even if I had picked the other fashion house I was considering instead of Gucci, it would have still been a tie. I know it's part of the game, but I hate being so bad at assig...

The math portion of my brain went mushy went I was trying to calculate my wager in FJ. And yes, Carroll was my 2nd guess. Eliot didn't even come to mind, I've never seen CATS!!! My friend who was in the audience has since sent me a copy of Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats. It's a weird, but ente...

Seth’s chat was about Pizza Society and he said there was a contestant last year connected with it. Yes. https://jboard.tv/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4651&p=279586&hilit=pizza+society#p279586 I've played Seth and Krishna in LearnedLeague a few times. Both are strong competitors there. I liked this FJ! clu...

The FJ! clue was a no huddle snap for processing and writing to be done before the music. I was prepared to do a 32-team speed round in 30 seconds if necessary as I spent the break making sure I could instantly recall the teams in their 4-team division blocks. Nope, not necessary. I got it down qui...

Re: Where to start w/ trivia & life?

Trivia podcasts have become quite popular. If you're a fan of the pub quiz format, Trivial Warfare is the way to go. OntarioTheQuizzer hosts Complete The List, which is always a fun listen. Many boardies here have been on one of these, if not both. Really just search "trivia" in your podcast player ...

Re: TD 397 - SS

Clarification Question for Bonus #1: When going for the top 3 most correct without error, are we still limited to providing 5 answers, or are we allowed to go beyond 5 answers, but only first 5 would count for the first part of the bonus?
