Re: Wednesday, November 7, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

The Archive surprised me with only one hit for the musical: #7628, aired 2017-11-08 BROADWAY 2017 $1600: Ben Platt won the 2017 Tony for his performance as a high school senior coping with a classmate's death in this hit musical The actor in question has a Jeopardy connection: http://www.j-archive....

Re: Where to start w/ trivia & life?

Trivia podcasts have become quite popular. If you're a fan of the pub quiz format, Trivial Warfare is the way to go. OntarioTheQuizzer hosts Complete The List, which is always a fun listen. Many boardies here have been on one of these, if not both. Really just search "trivia" in your podcast player ...

Clarification Question for Bonus #1: When going for the top 3 most correct without error, are we still limited to providing 5 answers, or are we allowed to go beyond 5 answers, but only first 5 would count for the first part of the bonus?

Re: LearnedLeague 78 - Official Thread

I make dumb mistakes a lot in LearnedLeague, but yesterday may have taken the cake on the Penn question...I currently have about 6-7 cans of Penn racquetballs in my gym bag. Somehow, I knew that was the "similar or accessory item" but went with the "tennis racquets" MCWA instead. Nope, that's Penn's...

Re: LearnedLeague 78 - Official Thread

I'm friends with my opponent from yesterday on Facebook, so I knew he was a booze connoisseur (he's been "brand ambassador" for two businesses with "spirits" in their name, and another job title on his profile is "drinks writer"), and that he's currently traveling through Italy, so I gave him 0 for...

Re: LearnedLeague 78 - Official Thread

The Bulleit stop on the Bourbon Trail isn't too far from Bullitt County at least, about 10-15 minutes from the Jefferson-Bullitt county line. We made several stops on the Bourbon Trail before/after visiting my wife's relatives in Shepherdsville, Kentucky. That is the county seat of Bullitt County. ...

Re: LearnedLeague 78 - Official Thread

Ah I see and I would agree. Thursday was brutal for my A Rundle; we barely got above 50% for that day. Over all rundles, 3 of the 4 hardest days of the season occurred last week (Thursday was 1, Monday was 2, Friday was 4). Stats here: https://learnedleague.com/allrundles.php?78&19 Is there a way t...

Re: LearnedLeague 78 - Official Thread

Requoting to say that yesterday blew those days out of the water in terms of difficulty. Funny, I’ve really been struggling this season, but Monday was one of the days where I felt the beer was in reach, yet ended up with just 4 right because I thought Fort Knox was in TN and assumed Thorsten would...

Re: LearnedLeague 78 - Official Thread

So who pissed in Thorsten's cornflakes last week? Yeesh. Is this in response to SmitheeA or the 13 made inactive? Nope, just the level of difficulty I've encountered of late. Maybe it's just me, but overall league get rates have been down the last few days as well. Ah I see and I would agree. Thurs...

Ricky Bobby cost me a perfect, could not dredge up Talladega at all. As penance, I've put it on the top of my Netflix queue.

I noticed that PerryS's match yesterday had what must be the rarest of ties: 9(5)-9(5). How about this one? From an A rundle match in a prior season: https://learnedleague.com/match.php?id=748648 More stats on rare ties in this thread: https://learnedleague.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=8276&p=107347&hil...

Re: LearnedLeague 78 - Official Thread

The Nowitzki question was tricky given a lot of recent retirements (Duncan, Ginobili, both with the Spurs long term) and some high scorers who have been around a while (Westbrook), but Kobe as an MCWA? OK then. When did he retire? I've been out of the country music loop recently, so I felt lucky to ...

Re: Reretaken Down

# 1 2 - S.O.S. and nothing ever changes as even 20-0 was not enough of a cushion for Chi against GB. I wonder how many people went to bed early, figuring "OK, 20-0, Rodgers is on the cart, Kizer sucks, Khalil Mack is eating them alive, it's over". The local Packers bar probably lost 1/2 of its patr...
