Re: Tuesday, November 21, 2017 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]

Eric's TDD in the first round was nice to see, Kiana's DD wager was lacking, Wilbur's was acceptable, I wonder if the contestants had more clue than we did as to the amount of time left in the round. Regarding knowing how much time is left: other than the "less than a minute" warning, there is no c...

Re: Tuesday, November 21, 2017 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]

From re-watching that Final, Kiana began writing almost immediately and took almost all 30 seconds to get the correct Final. Wilbur started writing about 15 seconds in and probably needed about 5 more seconds to get that right. That's pretty much akin to running out of timeouts at the end of a footb...

Re: TD 359 - Remix (Q1 - Q8 revealed)

Regarding... 7. Bible Culture (TD 350): There are 7 sets of "1st/2nd" books (see bonus round for the lone "1st/2nd/3rd" set) in the Bible. Name one of these 14 books. (Example: If there were 1st & 2nd Ezra, then either 1 Ezra or 2 Ezra would be a correct response.) Would you have accepted 1/2 Maccab...

Re: Tuesday, November 14, 2017 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]

Can someone point to similar prior examples of someone expressing frustration so outwardly on Jeopardy? It definitely struck me as unusual, starting really at the beginning of DJ. The audition process would very likely tend to select away from such a disposition, which would presumably be even rare...

Re: Timing of Audition Invite Emails

To throw a wrench in the "test scores determine groupings" theory: At the audition that got me on the show, our groups went up in alphabetical order by first name. I was in the last group. As of now, I know of only 1 other person in my group that made it to the show besides myself. This was in June ...

Both of my recruits were put in the same rookie rundle. Is this normal? Is it random, or do they try to split it up between the two rookie rundles in the division?
I think they try to keep them in the same division. At least that's been the case the last 2 seasons for me.

Re: Friday, November 10, 2017 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]

Even though I'm always wrong it's always fun to play the semifinal prediction game. Going by $ totals in QF matches W1: Buzzy W2: Andrew W3: Jason W4: Alan W5: Lisa WC1: Pranjal WC2: Austin WC3: Lilly WC4: Tim For starters I would think Tim, Lilly and Jason from QF2 will be in separate games. The p...

Re: Forgive the Non-J! Poll

I guess I'm not sure why Buck annoys so many people. I find him pretty innocuous. Same with John Smoltz. This. I've never gotten the Joe Buck hate. People often make comments suggesting that he isn't very knowledgeable, but I've yet to hear anything that would make me inclined to agree. I found Tim...

Re: Forgive the Non-J! Poll

I'd prefer a recording of Vin Scully describing his breakfast. Close enough: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AiUPlTRUY_Y That was pretty good. I suggest leaving it on autoplay and watch the next video: Vin Scully telling the story of Mike Matheny's life while going between play by play. Hint: it in...

Re: The Official TPH Education Thread (POTENTIAL GAME DAY SPOILERS)

Not all Caesar salads have anchovies, which I know will be confusing, but they were originally made as such. I would have to drive all the way to Lansing just to find one anyway. Come on, man. A Caesar is absolutely one of the most popular salads in the United States today. Heck, that's what I had ...

Can we poll Bulls Bay = SC? That seemed ridiculously obscure. So anchovies = caesar salad huh? News to me. There was a Richard III? I hesitated a little, and that's with having a Shawnee Park here in town on the Ohio River. It even gets flooded out, so it's really down in the valley.

Re: A question about rebound timing

A related question. What does the signaling device look like? Is it configured differently for someone who is right-handed than for someone who is left-handed (similar to the shape of hand gloves)? Jasper While not "handed" in make, the signaling device is wired on the right side of where the conte...
