Writers: Blank you and your Drew Pearson clues! There have been other instances of that play. Just don't use Aaron Rodgers as the substitute either. The last-second Staubach-to-Pearson completion and TD to beat the Vikings is the play that became known almost immediately as the “Hail Mary”, in part...

Had I been on the podium and gotten the Elizabeth Warren clue, I would have been hard-pressed to not say “Fauxahontas”. My spouse, who is an actual official card-carrying Cherokee, has given me express permission to use that sarcastic sobriquet for Ms. Warren; her preferred nomenclature fo...

I assumed the whole wording of the FJ clue was to sow doubt in the contestants’ minds. Bonnie Prince Charlie -> Charles Edward Stuart -> hmmm...did his brother have a different name? 10 seconds...screw it, I’m going with Stuart!

Re: Wednesday, January 23, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

The Handmaid’s Tale was also made into a mostly forgotten 1990 movie with a cast including Robert Duvall, Faye Dunaway and Natasha Richardson. Agree the movie was forgettable, with the exception of Natasha Richardson - quite a presence, and more than held her own with Robert Duvall at the height of...

Re: Thursday, December 20, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Was the clue correct when it said meteors burn up due to friction? The NASA web site implies this. But I assumed they burned up for the same reason rockets need heat shields. They compress the air in front of them, thus super-heating it. Not to disagree with NASA, but this web site agrees with that...
