Re: Monday, November 23, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Instaget FJ. “Won the peace” of WW2 is clearly a reference to the Marshall Plan; don’t see how the UN could come into play in the clue at all. “bill and coo” a stand and stare? More trash for me...and I’m not even remotely a Springsteen fan, but “Born To Run” is one of those super-hyped albums in ro...

One of my favorite movies. Instaget FJ. But definitely could be a poser if you haven’t seen the movie.

Spent a few seconds making sure I had the clue parsed correctly, then got it from both Longfellow and Lightfoot simultaneously. I’m presumptuously assuming a spelling of Gitcheegoomie would be acceptable.

Did anyone else hear Lisa pronounce Edward Murrow's name as "Morrow?" I was expecting a reversal for that.
I thought I heard "Morrow" too.
That’s what I heard too, but I’m sort of ok letting it go; it’s a pretty fine distinction. OTOH, maybe Alex should have asked her to repeat it.

Re: Poll on Boardies Covid-19 Impact

Count me among those who probably didn't have Covid-19 but who...came down with something I suspect was an atypical cold (maybe a coronavirus cold?): not much fever, but much more debilitating than a typical cold, and the cough was much more severe than a typical cold and lasted a solid 2 weeks lon...

Re: Regis Philbin Has Passed Away

He also once hosted a reality game show called Almost Anything Goes That was in 1975, the first time I ever heard of him. On a family vacation, watching TV in the motel room late at night, my siblings and I ran across this show with the contestants doing wacky physical challenges. Never saw Regis a...

Re: Poll on Boardies Covid-19 Impact

My employer and job are classed as "essential", so Covid-19 has had little impact on my job except traffic on my commute is a lot less. Some of my job I can do from home, but much of it requires me to be in the office. I know nobody who has had it. I wear masks in public in accordance with the promu...

Re: TD 447 - Grab Bag (Final Standings)

My “all-sheep all-the-time” strategy fell apart at the end with I think my best TD finish so far. If I’d thought to use my drop, I might have cracked the Top 10. Thanks for the game, threearruda.

Re: The Official TPH Education Thread (POTENTIAL GAME DAY SPOILERS)

Winwood's association with Clapton is starting to ring a bell with me now. My stepdad likes Eric Clapton so he has mentioned Winwood's name to me several times. Still couldn't name any Winwood songs off the top of my head, but I at least remember who he is now. Steve Winwood is kind of an odd rock ...

Can't say I've heard of Steve Winwood or the song associated with him. You play the organ, right? Steve Winwood is one of the greatest organists in rock - as well as being one of the best blue-eyed soul singers in rock, and a crackerjack guitarist too. Check out his classic organ and vocal parts on...

Re: Wednesday, June 3, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Yeah, that got the DVD forum I frequented back in the day hot under the collar. As if tampering with Star Wars wasn't enough, Lucas then goes after IJ. Technically "Raiders of the Lost Ark" is incorrect now. I saw Raiders in its IMAX rerelease (2012 I think) and at a couple of “classic movie nights...
