Re: Tuesday, April 6, 2021 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Caro's phrasing is meant to establish atmosphere, not to pin down a specific place.

And don't use an article that implies ownership, never YOUR cabin.
...
But if you do use a possessive pronoun, choose properly.

"Your cabin or mine" is fine on a cruise ship, but on a boat or a plane use HER cabin.

I was surprised any labo(u)r was exerted considering the first response. The word "party" was in the clue.

The FJ! category had me with no inspirations other than Cleopatra's Needle. I thought of Pikes Peak, in part because for two years I attended a small liberal arts school nestled at the foot of it. Also, at 14,115 feet, it's an eponymous landmark visible from probably a hundred miles to the east, ak...

Aaron Rodgers gets points for studying the craft. I just hope he doesn't come off as a slavishly imitative fanboy.
Studying game film is an extension of his regular gig, so I'm not surprised.

I recall viewing and photographing the Olympic flame passing in front of the high school from which I graduated. Once I recalled that other anchoring point things fell into place.

BTW, I own a copy of "The Magic Mirror of M. C. Escher'.

I had a serious interest in his work in the '80s and '90s.

Yes. In fact there is a statue of Brahe and Kepler near the Czech Foreign Ministry which nearly threw m...

Holder of many home run and other batting records....

I went with Billy Elliot, figuring that actors must age out of the lead role, so there is a lot of turnover.
That one was easy to eliminate. Even at six shows per week, 2500 performances is a lot of aging.

If you were in high school in 1981 as I was, there was no way you could not listen to 'Don't Stop Believin'" I'm kind of surprised (as of now) only 40% claim to have listened to that song back then. OK, if you weren't born yet that's one thing, otherwise not sure how you could have avoided it. I bo...

I live just a few miles from the last guy's library and birthplace. Any one who lived through his Presidency likely thinks this one is overvalued. Who can forget the Western White House? Remembering the the Western White House might throw one off, or ar least slow one down. It was in San Clemente, ...

Sam found it and lost 2000 while a solve would have been enough to cinch the match. (Only because the last two $2Ks went TS) FJ was an instaget. "Oscars" + "sequel" pretty much leads to only The Godfather or Lord of the Rings , and I think Jackson's Oscars only came from the third entry. Yep. He wa...

You could just see David deflate after the DD miss. How heartbreaking that had to be. I felt sorry for him...but that was a HUGE wager in a category that wasn't just knowledge-based. it should be an easy grab as it was picking out an animal in the text. 10k too much. 5k was a reasonable one, IMO .....

How many people got Samuel Barber? *raises hand* Same. Adagio for Strings is a concert standard, and its use in the soundtrack to the movie Platoon seemed to have put in more in the public eye. 1. No one says you HAVE to "blindly guess" London. YOU are the one suggesting "blindly guessing" is involved. The canonical way to answer the question would be to be aware that the first World's Fair was in London in 1851. This is not a piece of knowledge that is secretly guarded by dragons, it is ...
