Re: Friday, January 11, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I didn't know that Freud was an inspiration for surrealism. That seems kind of weird to me but it's a good opportunity to learn. I picked Einstein based on the 1938 date. I have Freud associated with late-1800s and didn't realize he was a viable option for a 1930s clue. I did really poorly on tonigh...

If Charbel had bet recklessly on the last daily double and final jeopardy then he could have set a new 1-day record.

Re: Wednesday, December 5, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I'm usually excited to learn new things but tonight I learned the correct pronunciation of "Quixotic" and continued ignorance would be preferred. Most things called out as "neg-bait" are mislabeled but the clue with Amy and Jonah was definitely neg-bait for Superstore. Superstore is a popular prime ...

Re: The crisis in TDs

I’ve been skipping a lot of TDs recently because I’ve been very busy with things and haven’t had any time. I think the quality of TDs has been great and I wouldn’t change anything. The TDs you host are especially good. I wasn’t a huge fan of Morbeedo’s mini-TDs because I would miss one question and ...

I guessed Wounded Knee. “Blood flowed like water” made me think of a bloodier conflict than O.K. Corral.

I guessed Picard and missed that clue. The Wayside Inn made me hesitate because it was after the "Way" category but I got it. I missed San Diego and guessed San Juan Capistrano for the California city where Juan sailed.

Thanks for making this TD. There were a lot of good questions with a lot of variety and it was fun to play.

Re: Thursday, September 13, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I haven't seen any Ronald Reagan movies and missed the clue - Laredo was my guess. There's been another Knute Rockne / Ronald Reagan clue because I got to South Bend after Alex gave a hint before the reveal. I ran several categories but missed a lot too. I don't remember ever seeing that Pringles sl...

Re: Summer Hiatus Challenge 2018--Round 6 Instant Replay (SPOILERS)

It looks to me like Birdman has 6 words following the title instead of 5. All the versions I can see call it "Birdman or (the Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)" I gave the answer of "Or the Virtue of Ignorance" and that's not the intended answer but it does use 5 words that complete the title of the f...

Re: Summer Hiatus Challenge 2018--Round 6 Instant Replay (SPOILERS)

I made some mistakes on Day 2 of this one. Eris instead of Nemesis. Goddess of Retribution instead of Discord. Triton instead of Charon. Picked one of Saturn's moon instead of Pluto's. Xylophone instead of vibraphone. Anemone instead of abalone. I got as far as "invertebrate sea creature endi...
