Re: TD 384 - A Millennial Medley (Q9 Standings)

My goodness -- moved up 21 spots in the Q5 reveal, then moved down 20 spots in the Q9 reveal. I'm used to sheeping; that's to be expected. But I think this may be the first time I've been in contention for the game's biggest yo-yo.

Re: TD 384 - A Millennial Medley (Q7 Standings)

I should have realized that the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory was a huge sheep. I guess I was just hoping maybe the full name would elude more people. I guess it's somewhat redeeming that 14 other people also got that many points there. Wow -- figured people would steer clear of Triangle Shirtwaist a...

Re: Tuesday, June 19, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]

Most geographic sources consider the Delaware River from Philadelphia downstream to be part of the Atlantic Ocean, and therefore not making Pennsylvania landlocked. And so do some JBoard participants. I can picture 1776: "We need ships." "I know -- let's put our very first shipyard in a landlocked ...

Did OK on the extra clues, but this is one of my worst FJ weeks ever at 20%. Oh, well.

Also, the clue was based on a claim that's on John Hickenlooper's own web site- https://www.colorado.gov/governor/gov-hickenlooper By the way, I've been to the Wynkoop Brewing Company in Denver, which Hickenlooper owned before he was elected governor. Their Railyard Ale was perfect for a warm, sunn...

Re: Friday, June 15, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]

In EDIBLE BEFORE AND AFTER, one clue was "Choral singing group that’s got 3 slices of toasted bread, turkey, bacon, lettuce & tomato" and the clue's target response was "glee club sandwich." For some reason, I went more specifically than generically, and blurted "Culture Club sandwich" as my respon...

Re: Friday, June 15, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]

I can't remember the exact wording of the clue, but it was a before-and-after category and the clue's target response was "glee club sandwich." For some reason, I went more specifically than generically, and blurted "Culture Club sandwich" as my response. Did that fit the clue sufficiently to have b...

Re: Your guess for Thursday's FJ [SPOILER]

First thought, Lyra because of "strings," then thought, "wait, that's not a zodiacal sign." Went with Libra (so far the sheep!) with 8.33% confidence. Had no backup.

Libra for the same reason others have mentioned about the pans of the scale being suspended. Would move for poll question about a couple of wrong answers; from a quick scan of postings it appears that at least a couple of wrong answers seem to be more popular than the correct one. There was a shooti...

Re: Wednesday, June 13, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]

1990s Animated Films is sure to be a category to break me out of my FJ! slump. Took me a while, but FINALLY it clicked about 3/4 of the way through. Was also in a two-day slump, so was happy to get a clue I could figure out for the first time this week. Interestingly, my son came and stayed for a c...

IronNeck, There are dozens of people who work very hard to try to ensure a welcoming experience for everyone, especially contestants, in this community. Your posts are constantly at odds with that goal. When contestants are literally posting things questioning why they started a discussion after wh...

Huh, I didn't realize Jeopardy was a children's cartoon of no consequence for any of the contestants. Does that mean everyone on this message board, yourself included, is a snotty fool for writing long posts about the games and players? Although this perspective does explain your infantile post ear...

That's an attitude we can respect -- wish more players had the same philosophy. It was a great match with three players worth rooting for. Thanks for sharing your behind-the-scenes thoughts.

Re: Monday, June 11, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]

I botched this FJ horribly. My thought process was that it must be a large instrument, so I put down bassoon which is not even a brass instrument. Trombone was exceptionally obvious in hindsight. I got stuck on tuba for a few seconds for the same reason, though I worked my way to the right answer. ...

But in line with the theme -- would you accept kudus instead?
