Re: Wednesday, September 27, 2017 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]

I was in Rodgers & Hammerstein's TWO BY TWO a year and a half ago, which is about the story of Noah and the Ark. One of my lines was "Cubits? Nobody talks in cubits anymore!" Of course I got that one. Oscar Hammerstein had been dead for ten years before "Two by Two" opened on Broadway. Richard Rodg...

Re: OBIT: John Harlan

He announced my Jeopardy shows from 1978 (visible on YouTube).

In the words of Art Fleming, "Thank you, John Harlan."

"Actually, there's a female version, too, who is named Alberta."

"Does she live in Vancouver?"

Re: If you need an episode (recent past or near future)

It appears that next Tuesday's "Jeopardy!" will be pre-empted in my area (Sacramento) for the State of the Union Address. It would be nice to be able to view it online since it is the final day of the Teen Tournament.

Re: Tuesday, October 23, 2012 Game Recap & Discussion (SPOILERS)

Those of you who remember my 1988 appearance on Jeopardy! probably heard my anguished groan when the Ann Rutledge clue was revealed. In my game, I was in third place going into Final Jeopardy, having run into some bad luck on both Daily Doubles. The Final Jeopardy category was either Famous Women or...

How the hell were 1953 and 1990 supposed to be TOMs for Karl Marx? He was active in the mid-late 1800s. Also, what was the TOM for shrimp on Celebrity Cookbooks for $600? I had no idea what that clue was talking about. "It's Hard Out Here For a Pimp" was an Oscar-winning song from a few years ago. ...

Re: Tuesday, September 18, 2012 Game Recap & Discussion (SPOILERS)

In the summer of 1966 or 67, when I was 10 or 11, my family and I went on a vacation to Las Vegas, Nevada. At poolside at the Stardust Hotel, someone pointed out a group of men sitting around a table and said they were astronauts. I timidly approached the table and asked for their autographs. The ma...

Not only did I find the champ's mannerisms annoying, I also found them distracting. I would have been very unhappy to be a competitor on the show with her.
