Re: Thursday, June 6, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Checking "I matched Emma" in the weekly poll. Too much Arlo and Janis, I suppose. And to Roadgeek Adam, naturally the James fans are going to root against Emma. They wanted him to go all the way. It happens. People lose eventually on this show all the time. I think the post above looked incredibly ...

Emma Boettcher: 19000-13801=5199
Brendan Roach: 19200+19000=38200 (New Champ)
Salomé Gonstad: 16400+16400=32800
YESSSS!!!!!! The giant killer loses.
You must be the only person who wanted to see Emma lose. She downed a historic player....I don't get why you want her to lose.

Average is up to $76,601. Needs to put up a $90K drop tomorrow, which being said casually is still very weird, to put the Roger Craig record.

Re: Thursday, April 18, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I've only been able to watch 2 games of his run, much to my chagrin. But what blows my mind is that after 11 games, his average score is close to the previous single game record. Where would his average fall on the one-day winnings rankings (taking his scores out)? 3rd? Unbelievable. $70,147. Take ...

Re: Wednesday, April 17, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

For comparisons, at the end of game 10, Ken only had $341,158 (and won $50,000 that game). James is at $697,787. Not only are we at 2.045x the amount, this is insane. Could you imagine if there had been a wager bump? Right now James is on pace for what a million dollars by the end of the Wednesday. ...

Re: The Tournament of Champions in the Art Fleming era of Jeopardy!

No problem.

I spent the better part of two hours doing research in every database I access. I found lots of various articles, but I could never get a few things such as the winner you're still looking for in 1967.

I have several articles that notes where players are from as well.

Re: The Tournament of Champions in the Art Fleming era of Jeopardy!

I can solve something. In the 1970 tournament, we had a tie. Also, M. McNeil is Mary McNeil of Lansdale, Pennsylvania.

For the 1973 TOC, a trip to Greece is offered.

Re: Alex Trebek Announces Diagnosis of Pancreatic Cancer

It takes an incredible amount of courage to stand in front of a camera and tell the world that you have been diagnosed with a life-threatening disease. It takes a certain personality to be able to do that and then make a joke that will make everyone watching chuckle through their tears. Alex Trebek,...

Re: Will be in Santa Monica; O'Brien's

So for Thanksgiving week, I am treating myself to a train trip of the Western United States (focusing mostly on California). I will be staying in Santa Monica on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, and I am being bugged to go to O'Brien's. I am not exactly the greatest socialite in the world, blame autis...

Re: Will be in Santa Monica; O'Brien's

There are several regulars who don't drink alcohol for whatever reason (for me, it tends to be a crapshoot whether I get a beer or soda), and besides which, the place serves food too. So don't let the pub aspect of pub quiz keep you away. It's not just that, Stefan. I will be all alone, I don't hav...

Is that the first time they've done a split screen "We'll be back with FJ right after this?". Usually they show it with the open podium.

Re: News about Paucle

Rest in peace my good man. You have made the most of the splendid torch life has given you, even if it ended too young.

His family and friends (along with other JBoarders who might have been said friends) is in my thoughts and prayers.
