Re: Monday, May 25, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Missed my averages by a good $15k and 12 right answers. Went with NH on FJ. Was sure I had it, ID didn't even cross my mind. BADBADBAD :( :x  For folks like you and I who are actively trying to improve our scores/averages, I've also found that tourney games can play harder at times - differen...

Re: TD 445 - Prime Time [Q1-Q10 revealed]

I thought I had a singleton with Zoey 101 LOL. I never cease to be amazed at the knowledge of you folks. Now how could I not say Guy Lombardo after I made a whole TD aural question about him? This is the reason I also went with Lombardo. I should have realized that I would not be the only person who...

Re: Wildcard Cutoffs redux

Thanks for your work on this valuable resource, Bamaman. I caught two small errors: The S35/ November 2018 Teen Tourney was omitted from that section of the thread (won by Claire Sattler). Copied from TJF: 4) Rohan Kapileshwari $11,900 ($9,800, $3,400) ---- 5) Rhea Sinha, $6,800 ($11,800, $4,600). A...

Re: Fun with GSN's "Master Minds"

S32 player Ted Johnson was on today's show, coming in 2nd place.

Just started watching as we now have GSN again, I like the show!

Re: Friday, April 10, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Took five seconds to connect on FJ here. September certainly does feel like eons ago now. Fun week of games overall. Congrats to Tyler on a superb performance and to Nibir for advancing as well. I'll be rooting for Londyn and Xiaoke (USC fan - Fight On!) next week but I see at least four legit...

Still early in my career LOL.

October '17 (College) - 35/50? I believe? - no audition
October '19 (College) - 42/50 - no audition
January '20 (Adult) - 44/50 - TBD

Re: Thursday, April 2, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I'm just surprised that LSV knew Maren Morris but not Jason Aldean, when Maren's polling like 15% right now and they had another clue about Aldean about two weeks ago. LSV correctly ID'ed Maren Morris - from the same song, no less - in a TD I ran about a year ago (scroll down a bit to question six)...

Re: Tuesday, March 31, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I knew that "GBH" was "Great Blue Hill", so getting "Boston" was just a touch easier for me...or if you watch any PBS show that's created by WGBH Boston, like NOVA. Last time the champ bombed before FJ!? Seems like it shouldn't be that uncommon - I want to say we've had at least 4 or 5 FJ!s this se...

Re: Monday, March 30, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I thought Monya looked familiar. Here's a very brief recap of her Millionaire appearance from a couple years ago if anyone's interested. Another pop culture FJ from before my time, but unlike last Monday's, I got this one right without much difficulty. Congrats to Kyle on his victory! St. Andrews wa...

Re: Thursday, March 26, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Young people. Adam did not know what went with Ronald Reagan in THE PRESIDENTIAL SWEET for DD1. I'll pick up the slack for the young people and claim a get here. I have a kids book somewhere on the presidents and I'm pretty sure one of the illustrated photos shows Reagan eating from a jar of...

Re: Monday, March 23, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

How often does the leader A) fail to make a cover wager, and B) get FJ right and still lose because of said wager? I guess the follow up question is how often does 2nd place actually go for the double? Can't be that often, right? No more than a few times a season would be my guess. Off the top of m...

Re: 2020 Current Events Discussion Thread

Honestly, it really sounded like he just needed a change of environment and tension has been building for many years now. But no, the Pats couldn't match a 30 mil paycheck; NFL has a hard cap and they don't have the space This is exactly it.. and clearly it's not just Brady who felt that way. Lots ...

Re: TD 441 - Vermont (Final Standings)

Thanks for hosting, threearruda! I pretty much gave the Howard Dean yell with each reveal, but it was fun nonetheless. And thanks for the timely reminder-- if Phineas Gage can persevere, we all can get through the covid-19 scare. Have a great week, everybody! Thanks for playing! Great points all ar...

Re: TD 441 - Vermont (Q5-Q6 Revealed)

Some notes: Tim Horton’s was not my anticipated response but I see no reason to count it wrong as I did not pin the question for solely burgers. I will be scoring Tim Horton's separately from the In-N-Out crowd. I toyed with the idea of going with Tim Horton's because I love me some Timbits! In the...

9.) Fall Fun Vermont is well known for its foliage and various fall festivals. Pumpkins, leaves, corn mazes, scarecrows, hay rides, high school soccer and football. Exciting stuff! This is also an excuse for me to say that cold apple cider is awesome. Name a variety of apple. A dozen singletons awa...

Re: TD 441 - Vermont (Q7-Q8 Revealed)

7.) Springfield Artists of various kinds live all throughout the state. Springfield, VT won a film contest explaining why they should host the American premiere of the Simpsons Movie in 2007, and this was a pretty big deal throughout the region at the time. If I think hard enough I can still see th...
