We've learned that James's strategy is very effective at knocking out middle-aged women from Dubuque
I know multiple middle-aged women who absolutely annihilate at trivia. If I wanted this kind of ignorance I would read the Facebook groups.

Re: LL81: LearnedLeague

I managed to round out the season with a perfecto, thanks in part to the fact that I read Dragons Love Tacos to my son probably 5 nights a week. This hasn't been my strongest season in terms of TCA, but an enormous amount of luck in terms of CAA helped me win my rundle by a big margin. I've recently...

Re: LL80: LearnedLeague

Going into the last day I was just clinging to the promotion zone, with my highest-ever TCA. I crashed and burned, getting 1 question right and falling from 4th to 7th place. I hadn't gotten fewer than 3 right in a match day all season. It didn't help that I had the highest CAA in my rundle. Neverth...

Re: LL80: LearnedLeague

Thanks to studying pop music and geography I'm having the best season of my life, with the highest TCA in my rundle by four points. Unfortunately, I'm also having atrocious luck, with the highest CAA in my rundle by two points. The result? I'm in 6th place and will have to do well to avoid being stu...

Re: Tuesday, February 26, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Surely Matt's 364,878 flashcards means he made all of the j-archive into a giant flashcard deck. This isn't too technically difficult, but I can't imagine how it would be practical for memorization. I suppose you could just study an hour a day (at 5 seconds per card this would take ~16 months with n...

No worries. I unjoined so you're good to go.
Gosh, you didn't have to do that; thank you.

I actually remembered to create the private rundle with time to spare! Rundle Name: Rundle in the Jundle 8 Registration Code: readytorundle I'm in. I must say that it's an absolute pleasure to lose to you fine people every season. Oh dang, I'm literally the odd one out. QUICK, SOMEBODY ELSE JOIN!

I went with Madame Bovary because I remembered Hemingway liking it. Turns out he liked both, it seems: http://www.openculture.com/2013/05/erne ... _1934.html

Re: LearnedLeague 78 - Official Thread

Another season in A, another relegation. I had fun, though, despite playing terrible defense. I am consistently worse at defense when I am in A (my stats back this up); has anybody else had this observation?

Wrote down John Adams because of Boston; almost talked myself into Patrick Henry because of the chains/liberty connection as the think music ended.

Time for another brief stint in A Typhoon, home to RautY and KelsoT, among others. Looking forward to it!

Re: Timing of Audition Invite Emails

One small bummer about an August audition is that an 18-month pool means possibly being locked out of the online test until 2021. I'd better make the most of my audition!

Just got an email invite for auditions in Portland, OR!
Darn, haven't gotten an e-mail. Was the first time I'd passed the test, so was hoping to get lucky. I suppose it's possible they haven't sent out all invites yet though. Out of curiousity, what date is the Portland audition?

Re: LearnedLeague 76 - Official Thread

Did pretty well this season. Wound up in the middle of B Typhoon with my highest TCA ever, tempered by a truly tough CAA. Did decent on defense. Managed to sink a full court shot and beat MaddenDavid, too, which was surprising.

Re: LearnedLeague 76 - Official Thread

My opponent, with a career .500 in Art, managed a great pull with Diebenkorn, which I had put the 3 on with some confidence. Led to a tough 7(5) - 8(5) loss. Had nightingale right away; almost switched to skylark but stuck to my guns.
