I had a feeling someone might try to make the poem's name into 10 letters.
Easy enough, just use more kerning.

My precall consisted solely of Lewis Carroll...I explicitly thought of the white rabbit, but stopped guessing as to not unduly influence myself.

Well, I thought my guess of 'Billie' was pretty good, what with my Pop Music background. Came up with Holiday, Eilish and Joe Armstrong even!
Then it turns out one of those works was a poem (I recognized none of the works as well).

This might be interesting as a poll: I had never heard of any of those "common named" maladies... A couple were easy to tease out the correct response, but... Avocado Hand? Swimmer's Itch? Grinch Syndrome? Geographic Tongue? Baby Wrist? Nope, never heard of 'em. I've vaguely heard of Swimmer's, but...

The Singapore - Jakarta Olympic flame clue was just *chef's kiss*

Thought of Roget first but realized, no, that's French[sic]. Only other reference book then would be a dictionary and that leaves Webster.

Re: Jeopardy! Interim Host Thread

What salacious tea is behind the clickbaity headline ‘Jeopardy!’ Contestant Speaks Out About Savannah Guthrie’s Performance as Guest Host ? Jessica Newman, a Kentucky attorney, said the TODAY show co-host was “very nice, very professional,” she told the Lexington Herald-Leader. ‘“She was great,” Ne...

Huh. In your 1D history, it now shows if you broke into the top 50%, not just 5, 10 and 20
(if you get a label for being higher than 5%, I wouldn't, personally, know )

 Welp, I just stumbled backasswards into a lock for A rundle next season. I win, 7 to 6 with one less right AND one of my closest threats forfeits giving me a three point buffer away from the red zone instead of two. (Not like I deserved the freebie...this dip here *points to self* thought it...

Re: Friday, June 18, 2021 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I'm sure they go over it beforehand, but the guest hosts really need to be mentioning that. Do they? Does every game need the rules explained for viewers every time? NFL matches would -never- begin... Who's talking about the viewers? I'm talking about the host stating it to the person making the wa...

Agatha Christie will be on the poll as I'm already seen her mentioned on posts in other places. I'll be checking that box. It made no difference in results, but Trenton did the sacred True Daily Double on DD2 of 1800+1800 and with no pointer from Savannah, left $200 on the table. I'm sure they go o...

Re: Learned League 89 - May/Jun '21

I had "wickets" for about 21 hours, but then I remembered they were in croquet, and why would be in both games? They aren't very similar. I was glad to see a clue about Ian Botham. My first visit to UK was 1986 and it was still in mid-century form. The sportswriting was like 1920's Ring Lardner pro...

Evan Williams didn't get the bourbon question. Boo, hiss. Also, not usually one to go, "Hey, that looks like..." but Evan might as well have the last name Potter...(or Radcliffe). Got stuck on variants of 'moon' on FJ. Not a fan of those where if you get on the wrong track you're out of luck...

Acclaimed American actor and singer Paul Robeson, whose international fame was established via his performance of "Ol' Man River" in Show Boat, was also closely identified with what Shakespeare character, whom he portrayed in London (1930) and on Broadway (1943)? At least my non-dextrous brain didn't cost me the win. I really would've been upset by that: knew the trick, I've answered it before, and maybe if I spent all day on it...but my luck Michael C Hall would've done something yesterday and come across my feed and ruin it all if I waited...
