Re: Timing of Audition Invite Emails

Thanks for the good vibes! Ask me again about it on April 16th! How did it go? Well, I ran a pretty good race- finished in 3:32 - but wow- you really couldn’t have asked for worse conditions. Coldest Boston Marathon in 30 years and the rain never stopped- not once, before, during or after the race....

Re: Tuesday, April 17, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]

Russian work from the late 1800s? Xmas Eve? Instaget before Alex finished the clue. Exactly my thinking. First two days of this tournament have been pretty easy-peasy FJs. Wonder what they've got lined up for the finals? Meanwhile I certainly am grateful for this board. Last night I watched the gam...

I had handicapped Rebecca and Dhruv as the players to beat in this tourney. William did just that tonight, but Rebecca lived up to expectations. Nice payday for her at least.
You do know she goes home with $10K, not $43K, right? Not that $10K is chopped liver, but....

Ouch. Rebecca. That heart response is going to smart for a while. Dang. Props to William for eking out a win in a close match. If that's the one where she negged and William rebounded to give him the lead going into FJ, then, uh, yeah, killer mistake. I had Rebecca pegged to win the tournament afte...

I agree this was a harder FJ than the others in week 1 of the tournament. I feel sure I would have gotten it eventually, but certainly not in 30 seconds. Ended up wagging NC, knowing it was wrong.

I'm really trying to figure out how two bright college students could miss this FJ, even if Hannah may have simply missed the 20th Century part of the clue. Ya know, even if she missed that part, she ignored the fact that Cleveland took the oath of office twice, EIGHT YEARS apart because of serving...

Probably should have been negged for his pronunciation of "nebulae". He made it sound singular.
I expected a BMS. Given the "ae" category I think a neg might have been in order.

Easy FJ! clue. I got it in a heartbeat. I don’t understand why in a tie after DJ! contestants bet all but $1 to avoid the tiebreaker clue. Kristen was lucky that Jack got it wrong. Uh, ya think??!! I remember the anecdote from my compulsory Music Appreciation class in college, but it was more cleverly worded. It must have been pre-internet apocrypha that didn't make the cut as fake news. Again, cute story if true, and sorry to make you dumber  I'm trying to visualize a "compulsory Music ...

IIRC Alex opened this game by hoping all three players would perform as strongly as the three did the previous night. Not to be. Man was there a lot of standing-and-staring going on.
