Thanks CAPS LOCK for the enlightenment and the exegesis. Didn't know your ID when I posted (but then, I only alluded to your resemblance to Nicholas Cage, which you can take as a compliment). Lots of quality gets--my fave was Sargasso Sea.

Re: Monday, June 11, 2012 Game Recap & Discussion (SPOILERS)

Well Last Supper is accepted and Pentecost ruled incorrect. Alex then appears in a spliced-in bit explaining something about "We were thinking one thing but wrote another" (I didn't catch the precise wording as I was running to the bookshelf for my Bible). He credits Nicholas Cage with an extra $12,...

Re: Tuesday, January 24, 2012 Game Recap & Discussion (SPOILERS)

As the stereotypical home of the Vendetta (see Balzac), Corsica is sealed as the correct response. Indeed. At a minimum, knowledge of the fifth best known novel of Balzac (certainly Le pere Goriot, Cousin Bette, Eugenie Grandet, and Les Chouans are all better known) is required to answer any Final ...

Re: Tuesday, January 24, 2012 Game Recap & Discussion (SPOILERS)

Corsica has a stronger cultural affinity to Italy than to France--remember that the famous Corsican general began life as Napoleone di Buonaparte. As the stereotypical home of the Vendetta (see Balzac), Corsica is sealed as the correct response.

Re: Tuesday, January 17, 2012 Game Recap & Discussion (SPOILERS)

They ran out of time in the J! round...but made it through DJ even with a full video category?!?! Yeah, that was strange, but I think that I've found one of the culprits---tonight the naming and description of the J! round categories seemed interminable. I felt ready for the first commercial break ...

What, they cheated you out of the other $999?

Well, I actually haven't received anything yet, and withholding tax will take some. It's more just to represent my virtual post-FJ total, rather than actual winnings.

Re: Tuesday, January 10, 2012 Game Recap & Discussion (SPOILERS)

I must echo Alex's enthusiasm. That game was a lot of fun to watch, competitive throughout, and featuring three players it was easy to like. Hard to know who to root for. Loved Bryan's "This is gettin' fun!" Was disappointed, though, in the lack of response to the Jonathan Swift category... Said Lou...

I'd have thought that being from Woodbridge might've helped with the Talking Italian category? :) I see you're familiar with Woodbridge demographics. My mother and father-in-law immigrated from Calabria in the 1960s. Unfortunately for me, they speak Italo-Canadese, so when I'm helping my father-in-...

Here's the great part: you don't . Assuming you have a kitchen and know how to interpret a cookbook, you (or your mom, or your sister, or anyone else you know who might be inclined to learn how to cook) can make any of those foodstuffs in your own damn house. Baked brie, in particular, is super-sim...

Re: Monday, January 2, 2012 Game Recap & Discussion (SPOILERS)

I feel like such a name-dropper, but I sat with Art during the taping of the next show (tonight's). Didn't talk about football team loyalties, but I got the sense from his show that he was pro rather than anti-Steelers. Art did mention his passion for hockey--he's a Habs fan--and love for the Hockey...

Can we open it up to Yanks, and ask them about the Northwest Rebellion and the Battle of Vimy Ridge? Just sayin'
