Re: Andy's Millionaire Experience

I really enjoyed reading this! I had considered trying for Millionaire (before my cognitive decline), but never did so. It is surprising to learn that they give such short notice. Many people would have had to turn down the offer because they just couldn't make all the necessary arrangements so quic...

Re: My pitch for the final megatournament; also posted via Reddit

I'm tired of all the same old faces. I want a Tournament of Losers: https://jboard.tv/viewtopic.php?t=409&start=180#p62965 I love the Tournament of Losers suggestion. I am myself a Loser, though not of the caliber suggested by The Penguin. No! I am not Princess Hamlet, nor was meant to be... I am j...

Re: Monday, April 15, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

First, sorry for rocking back and forth. I know people will find it annoying, but I'm a kinetic person. Kevin, I doubt that most viewers noticed this. I didn't. Most of us have some tics or quirks that are likely to appear in stressful situations. When I was a contestant, I picked my nose more than...

Re: RIP Charles Van Doren

I remember watching Van Doren's amazing performance on 21 with my family, on our old black-and-white TV. We were mesmerized. Like much of America, we were rooting for this handsome, personable guy to win big. When the truth was revealed, it was like a betrayal by a friend.

You might have better luck trying for The Joker's Wild, hosted by Snoop Dogg.
I didn't know that this one had been revived. They should've changed the show's name to The Smoker's Wild.

$100,000 Pyramid casting call

I just became aware that this show is still around. I haven't watched it since pre-inflation days when it was The $10,000 Pyramid . I received this in an email today: The $100,000 Pyramid is currently casting nationwide for season 4! And the show's producers are looking for smart, dynamic, and energ...

Re: Wednesday, January 30, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Dorothy Parker was an instaget for me. I am indebted to her for numerous witticisms. My favorite: when a youngish person gestures that I should precede her through a doorway and says (snarkily) "Age before beauty," I graciously flit through the doorway and murmur "Pearls before swine."

Re: Tuesday, December 18, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Aside from Jackie's current run (and celebrity games), has there ever been a better chance of a contestant herself being the response/subject of a clue in a game she was playing? The Runaways appear in the archive a few times (the clue on June 21, 2017 even named many of the band members, but not J...

Re: Tuesday, December 11, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

...I can't hear the word "garbanzo" without recalling the days (80s, IIRC) when Skip Bayless was writing a regular column in one of the Dallas newspapers under the pseudonym Joe Bob Briggs, in which "garbanzos" had an entirely different meaning. Yeah, those were the days. Are you sure about this? F...

Re: Me playing "Leopardy!" at Midwest FurFest

Thanks for posting this! I watched the video with a family member who recently became interested in furry fandom after we saw the Lisa Ling feature on CNN. Both of us enjoyed playing along with "Leopardy!" -- and although I was dismally ignorant of most of the furry-specific subject matter, I was pr...

I picked exactly the same team that Woof chose, and I would not be surprised if this were the most popular lineup. Apparently we are an unimaginative bunch of folks.

Re: Should the Teen Tournament Winner Get a TOC Invite?

I assume that the winner of the Teen Tournament is ineligible to compete again in regular play (at least as long as Alex is host). Given this unfortunate circumstance, I think it's only fair that she or he should be given a shot at the TOC. I've seen some teen players who could hold their own agains...

Re: Thursday, November 1, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I'm glad I made it on J! when I was 51. I'm now 57, and I'm having more frequent responses such as the one for Turow: "It's not Grisham. It's the other one, the one who also wrote the book that was made into the movie about the guy." I was exactly correct, given that the movie was Reversal of Fortu...

Re: What Determines For Whom You Root on Jeopardy?

I tend to root for older contestants, redheads, females, and folks with southern accents. I am a 70-year-old redheaded woman from Oklahoma. More seriously, though: other than the obvious desire to see expansive trivia knowledge, I like to watch players who have a quirky sense of humor, but who are n...

I know the timing's way off, but "four triangles" led me to brassiere. I'd never have written it down, but it made sense from the clothing construction standpoint.

You know Google could have dispelled this erroneous notion of yours in about ten seconds. Pretty sad first post. Out of curiosity, if it had not been his first post would you still have been as mean-spirited? Probably. I just don't understand why people can't be troubled to fact check. "What does n...

I love the style of that car! It reminds me of some recent "box" cars such as the Kia Soul, Nissan Cube, and Toyota Scion. I guess it's true that everything old is new again.

This car is parked around the corner from me and I'm curious what I'm seeing?  Since I'm publicly displaying someone's vehicle and license plate I figure it's better to do it here with limited viewers instead of on Facebook when more would see it. https://farm1.staticflickr.com/980/41275954335_6877...
