Re: Season 36 Pre-Emptions

[/quote] I'd set a recording for tomorrow at 5:00 AM. That's the time they plan to show the Saturday rerun of Jeopardy!, but I'd record it just in case they show yesterday's episode instead. I checked my DVR and at the time they said Jeopardy! would air, the Saturday rerun of Wheel aired (which like...

And what we got was a re-run, although labeled as Friday's episode.

Re: Season 36 Pre-Emptions

And ... WABC-7 NYC didn't run Jeopardy! at the time they said they would, so even with opening a wide window on the DVR, only got the first half of Jeopardy!

Re: Season 36 Pre-Emptions

Jeopardy! in NYC on WABC-7 has been moved to 3:30-ish am Saturday morning, according to my DVR and Titan TV listings. Last time, I lost Final Jeopardy as the DVR cut it off early. It would be nice if WABC-7 would note the change in time on their web page or on facebook. It's really not that hard, is...

Re: Friday, February 28, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

"Traditionally, this is the first full day of the Paschal Triduum, leading up to Easter Does the word "full" make any difference?" I didn't remember the 'answer', so maybe that's what they were getting at. As a Catholic, I would think a 'full' day would start at Thursday evening's service. Day 3 wou...

Re: Friday, February 28, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

The Easter Tridiuum begins at the Holy Thursday Mass, not on Good Friday.
Perhaps someone thought Friday, Saturday, Sunday. But the 'third' day is the Easter Vigil on the night of Holy Saturday.
Or is this where J! using a Protestant definition I haven't heard of?

I guess Brad and Ken will have a chance to top Emma's record of beating James twice.

Re: Friday, November 15, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Nobody but Emma can say "I had more money than James Holzhauer at the end of two out of three matches"
It would be just a little bit of a stretch to say a shorter version, "I beat James Holzhauer two out of three games."

Re: Friday, July 19, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I loved seeing the Saturn V Instrument Unit. It saved the Apollo 12 mission. Astronauts wanted the Command Module to run the Saturn V rocket. While they had some options for control, the show was run from the Instrument Unit, not the Command Module. So when Apollo 12's Saturn V was hit by lightning,...

When Alex introduced the category THE 1600s, I was hoping he'd say "That was a good century" or similar. "You're too young to remember." I felt much older when I realized the contestants were born too recently to remember 9/11/2001. I didn't remember the members invoking the NATO article at the tim...

. . . My wife came up with "bullion" in place of 'stock'. You can invest in (gold) bullion, right? Perhaps the spellings are different. I'm watching it now and trying to check it out at the same time. bob The pronunciation is different too. Gold is bullion (BUHL-yun). Soup/stock is bouillon (BOOL-y...

I agree on the Ava swings taking too much of the contestant's time.
Rob Lowe is yelling 'Hurry up, little time left,' while Ava is casually making wide swings to the next clue.

Augh, I had a DVR glitch. And tomorrow's game is being preempted in the NYC area by the NFL draft. Does anyone know if there is an alternate place I can watch? The local affiliate here doesn't rebroadcast when the show is preempted. Update: (and a correction!) WABC noted at the beginning of the NFL...

I had no clue that Mariah Carey is from NY. Couldn't think of anyone. Oh yeah ... Star Trek???! I wonder if they were flashing to another Twilight Zone episode, also involving an aircraft, with William Shatner: "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet". I didn't think 'Amazon' for final jeopardy, since I thought the River was, in part, in the Northern Hemisphere. I'm still poring over maps to see if the delta is across the Equator. For what it's worth, the basin is partly in the northern hemisphere. Hey, all three got it right, so no harm, except t...

Having lived in New Jersey for many years, I had never thought of Pennsylvania as a 'landlocked' state, but I guess Delaware Bay doesn't count.
