Re: Jeopardy! Interim Host Thread
I wouldn't be surprised if Jeff Probst and Pat Sajak got the call to be guest host. For one thing, Jeff Probst hosted Rock & Roll Jeopardy! as well as being the current host of Survivor. And Pat hosted the April Fools episode back in 1997 as well as the fact that Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune are s...

Re: 2020 in review and what's in store for 2021
I don’t think they will do a celebrity week while they are using the rotating interim hosts. Someone trying to learn the ropes doesn’t need the extra hassle of dealing with contestants who aren’t talking the show seriously. Plus the focus needs to be on establishing the new host and not some D list...

Re: 2020 in review and whats in store for 2021
The College Championship with some kind of tag team action? If Celebrity Wheel of Fortune does well in prime time then Celebrity J!? A FJ! clue with Alex Trebek as the correct response. A tribute category based on things AT hosted? The return of Zach Newkirk is strongly rumored to have already happ...

Re: Wednesday, October 28, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
Just watched the episode on YouTube, and what caught me by surprise was Brian not getting penalized for writing a shoutout in his FJ! response. Starting with James Holzhauer's 18th episode, contestants could no longer write shoutouts in their FJ! responses or else they would not be accepted. We've ...

2020 in review and what's in store for 2021
2020 has been a not-so-great year for Jeopardy! most of the time. But don't get me wrong; the year started on a good note. We had 8-time champion MacKenzie Jones. Then there was the Greatest of All-Time tourney, in which Ken Jennings finally won a tournament and prevailed over Brad Rutter (initially...

What tournaments are in store for Season 37?
In past seasons, there would always be a tournament or a special event in November, may it be the ToC, Teen Tournament, or College Championship; S23 had two weeks of Celebrity episodes at Radio City Music Hall in November of ‘06. This season has been different from seasons past; there were no tourna...

Re: OBIT: Alex Trebek
This is sad news indeed, and I was anticipating he would at least make it to 2021 and finish taping episodes for this season. But rest in peace Alex, you'll always be remembered in the Jeopardy! community. That being said, I wonder if TPTB are going to use an interim host to finish Season 37. I say ...

Re: Season 37 changes and predictions
When I was watching the segment on GMA previewing the new season, I did see the contestants walk up to their podiums but all at the same time, not one by one like during the first 16 seasons (Johnny would say "Now entering the studio are today's contestants"). So perhaps the practice of the contesta...

Re: Season 37 changes and predictions
Now that the globe intro made a comeback, I wonder if Mike Richards will revive some of these other Jeopardy! traditions that were part of the show during the 80s and 90s and were retired from Season 14 onward: The set background changing its color to red for Double Jeopardy! and Final Jeopardy! but...

Re: Season 37 changes and predictions
Forget the spoiler I made, as someone posted a photo of the modified set on another thread. Anyways, another change I found out about is Ken Jennings will join the show as a consulting producer and will make his own video clues. Due to Mike Richards replacing Harry Friedman as the executive producer...

Re: Season 37 changes and predictions
Here's the redesigned set for this coming season. Like I predicted it's not an entirely new set like we saw 7 years ago, but it's undergone a few cosmetic changes other than the contestant lecterns being spaced farther apart than in previous seasons. https://media.wtsp.com/assets/WTSP/images/a55135...

Season 37 changes and predictions
We look back at Season 36; and it has been pretty dismal, especially since it ended early because taping was suspended when COVID-19 hit. However, there have been a few moments worth remembering, but not to the extent that we saw in Season 35. Obviously, the most memorable moment from S36 was James ...

Re: Tuesday, February 6, 2001 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
I remember seeing this episode before on either DailyMotion or YouTube back in 2011, and it was an entertaining episode, especially when Charles didn’t ring in on a single clue in the Jeopardy! round. That said, other comments I’d like to make are that I really liked the set that was used for these ...

Re: Looks Like Jeopardy! Has Resumed Production
I don't think you could say the current set looks dated. And it's not like there's new technology that would be beneficial out there to the show, like the switch to one giant HD screen instead of 30 (or 36) TV sets, or the switch from the 1980s "light pens" to the more modern touchscreens I presume...

Re: Looks Like Jeopardy! Has Resumed Production
Interestingly, when Bob Barker retired as the host of The Price is Right and then Drew Carey took his place, the set underwent a lot of cosmetic changes; also, the iconic theme song and the "come on down" music cue were re-recorded (with extra percussion added to the "come on down" cue). So I wouldn...

Re: Friday, October 4, 1985 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
I remember these shows and he most definitely did more bouncing than he did in his fifth game. But I remember his bounce being different than others but memories have ways of becoming less true as the years go by. As I remember Chuck, he would often shift between a few categories at a time rather t...

Re: Looks Like Jeopardy! Has Resumed Production
According to an unaired segment of GMA, Alex mentioned that the set has been redesigned for social distancing. I'm wondering if this means a completely new set (e.g. like at the beginning of Season 30) or some modifications to the current set, much like what we saw in 2006 when the show began broadc...

Re: Reruns to start May 4th
So glad they're re-airing episodes from some of the earlier seasons and not just games from Seasons 34 and 35. That said, before I checked the schedule for shows to be aired during the vault weeks, I was hoping they would do a week of Ken Jennings episodes (7/13/2004 - Ken breaks the $1M mark; 7/23/...

Re: Friday, October 4, 1985 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
I just watched the episode, and Chuck Forrest was indeed a phenomenal player. I would’ve considered him a possible candidate for Greatest of All Time from when the 5-day limit was in effect...well, before Brad Rutter won the Million Dollar Masters Tournament in Season 18. Other candidates from that ...
