Re: LearnedLeague 78 - Official Thread

If you enjoy science fiction, the Jemisin trilogy is an absolute masterpiece--supremely inventive and meaningful. The Hugo award is very well deserved. If you are allowed to change your mind after having posted answers when half-asleep, but not having seen, read, heard of, or otherwise been informed of anything, I just did that. If you are not allowed to do this, please ignore my most recent post. Thanks. (Probably not allowed, but I thought it mig...

Re: SHC 2018--Introduction, rules, and wildcard eligibility

I would like to claim 3 wild-card categories:
1) About-to-be Jeopardy champion (hah, I haven't even reached the audition stage in the past 5 years or so, despite having qualifying scores on the online quiz)
2) Rookie
3) Senior (wait, isn't this an advantage?)

Thanks

Re: LearnedLeague 77 - Official Thread

In the MiniLeague of Math 2, I currently have a "perfect" defensive efficiency of 0.000. I also have zero unforced points allowed. The people I was playing against went 9(6) and 0(0), the latter not a forfeit.

Re: Sad Legal News About a Former Champion

I understand that views on this differ. And yes, I'm not opening my email to everybody, nor sending a complete transcript of everything to the New York Times. But what you would not find in any of my email is: snarky comments about tenure candidates, snarky comments about candidates to be department...

I agree with ElendilPickle. This was a very well-crafted TD, and lots of fun, even though I had no clue about the theme. Thanks!

Re: Sad Legal News About a Former Champion

I am very glad that this has turned out as well as it did. I continue to believe that Dr. Jass's actions should not have been prosecuted. It looks to me like an instance of pre-whistle blowing activity by Dr. Jass that yielded information the Adrian College administration found embarrassing; and (in...

Re: TD 386 - CLASSIC AREA CODES 9xx (FINAL RESULTS FOR THE RING)

Thanks very much for putting this ring together. I found the jboard too late to participate in the full ring (and would have been mid-pack-ish at the best), but it's been quite a trip!
