I share your flabbergasting.
I believe the noun form is "flabbergasm"

Re: Monday, June 24, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Query to alietr: Does our BBcode not support superscript and subscript or am I just doing it wrong? I thought [sup]3[/sup] would give me a superscript 3 but no dice. No superscript for you! I think it would have to be added separately and that would involve effort on my part. You can, however, use ...

Re: Monday, June 24, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I think I stronger case for an incorrect ruling was the "Proverbially, you go "under" it when you head into surgery" clue. An alternative spelling of anesthesia is anaesthesia (with a silent a), which definitely fits the clue and has a silent letter. I'm not sure about the 'proverbially' part, but I...

Re: LL81: LearnedLeague

I have never heard of Ritter Sport before in my life. I am absolutely flabbergasted that 56% of the league and 80% of my rundle got that one. Amen. And I can't tell you how many times I've been in Duty Free Shops in Germany. I share your flabbergasting. Pop Art should have been gettable, but I ende...

I got my invite to Columbus today.
But it could literally be anywhere!

Congrats, and good luck.

I just got the call. I'm on during the first taping week for the new season in July.
Congrats, and knock 'em dead! May you never see a Holzhauer.

Re: LL81: LearnedLeague

27 games? Pfftt. That’s nothing! I was in grad school at Columbia in the ‘80s when they posted an awe-inspiring 0-45 streak. In the midst, the then-coach Jim Garrett (father of star quarterback Jason Garrett) referred to his team as a “bunch of drug-addicted losers.” Needless to say, that didn’t go...

Re: LL81: LearnedLeague

I was closer than I thought with my answer of Coral Sea.

My ridiculous luck continues. My MPD ranks 14th, my DE 24th, and my TCA 21st. Yet I'm in 4th. I'm living on borrowed time.

Oh, Shriya ... you're a Geography Bee National Runner-Up and you get a DD in a Geography category. If ever there was a time to go big, this was it.

Re: Confetti Discussion

It's not worth playing 'guess the face' at the very end of the time allowed for me. Have all the questions been like that? The last few nights have followed the game theme. Not sure why they're stuck on that format. I think it's fun - and easier overall - but not every night It seems to me that the...

Re: LL81: LearnedLeague

I WAGged "prison" based on the word "gritty." Without that, I would have lost 0(1)-1(1) (we both got ratatouille but I defended it incorrectly). I talked myself out of 'prison' because I figured 'gritty' made it too obvious, and went with 'hospital' which can be gritty, too. Didn't cost me, fortuna...

Re: LL81: LearnedLeague

I might have gotten Reichstag if I had RTFQ, but for some reason I only thought of U.S. buildings. I seem to remember that bit being either a 500K or 1m question on WWTBAM back when Regis hosted it. No clue about why the Reichstag was covered. I went with the Murrah Bldg. I do find it humorous that...

I will add that I think this is the first time I've ever seen it where none of the people I track nor their opponents got six right. That was (yet another) tough set.

One of these things is not like the others ... just a weirdly lucky season for me despite a meager DE and my worst (projected) TCA in 17 seasons. And it continues to amaze me how similar Josh and I are.

For Aaron Spelling's last series before he died, I went with "Heaven Couldn't Wait". I knew 'heaven' was in there, but no way I was pulling that one.

I'm pretty keen on geography and still had no hope on Meadows. I am disappointed that my submission of "L'Anse aux Calrissian" didn't seem good enough for a BWA, though.
Am I missing something? I thought BWAs only show up at the end-of-season voting nowadays.

Muffy’s game show rap sheet has a lot of items and let me know if I missed something. Tough year for wildcards with 8300 not enough and 8850 last in.
She was also the +1 for Peter Morris (her brother) on 12/10/18 (they were in the Green Room with me).

I assumed they meant the disease had been eradicated worldwide, so I went with smallpox. Are there any other diseases that are considered to have been completely eradicated? As has been mentioned, polio is still extant in some Third World countries. IIRC, one of the ruses that was used to discover w...
