I had 3 MA men picked out for FJ!: Hancock, Adams and Adams. Went with J. Adams. :(

Re: Summer Hiatus Challenge 2018--Medal ceremony

Congrats to Schlie and the other podium dwellers. You've shown us just how knowledgeable some people can be. A special thanks to our favorite fast feline for putting this all together, the clue writers, and all of the participants for continuing this beloved JBoard tradition.

Re: LearnedLeague 78 - Official Thread

Ah I see and I would agree. Thursday was brutal for my A Rundle; we barely got above 50% for that day. Over all rundles, 3 of the 4 hardest days of the season occurred last week (Thursday was 1, Monday was 2, Friday was 4). Stats here: https://learnedleague.com/allrundles.php?78&19 Is there a way t...

Re: Millionaire 2018-19 Season Discussion [SPOILERS]

Susannah, very nicely done, and you get a lot of Mouse money. Andrew, what can I say? It was a risk well worth taking, and it didn't pan out for you, unfortunately. The expected value was definitely there. It sucks to gamble with that much money, but it was entirely justifiable. And you get a lot of...

Re: Millionaire 2018-19 Season Discussion [SPOILERS]

I've been holding off on visiting this thread since Millionaire comes on at 1:00 AM here, so I'm at least a day behind and don't want to spoil myself. Re: Lifelines left at high dollar questions -- If you haven't used the ATA by $10k, it's almost assuredly worthless. They're just not going to know t...

It took me until this morning to figure out what the heck Thorsten was going for with that Lord North question.
Yeah, I guess there was no Lord Ottoman. I ended up in the wrong war.

Re: LearnedLeague 78 - Official Thread

Some day I hope to see the Large Magellanic Cloud with the naked eye when far enough into the Southern Hemisphere. In the Northern Hemisphere, we can see the Andromeda Galaxy with the naked eye on a clear, moonless night. To think that it's over 2+ million light years away. I'm currently on an isla...

Lavoisier (with near-zero confidence). Post-game research shows me that he died by guillotine, so at least there is a connection.

Re: Wednesday, September 12, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I got Guillotin without the E. :geek: I didn’t (I said Robespierre) but I dislike the “executive decision” to accept a response that is 100% wrong. Well, I guarantee that there would have been an uproar if they didn't take all 3 answers as being correct. I'd say that without the executive decision,...

Re: Tuesday, September 11, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Bonus JBoard-related fact: both times that a clue has asked for "Tuvalu", the .tv domain was used as a crucial hint (without it, Tuvalu would probably be the only remaining country yet to be an answer). When I saw that the .tv domain was available, I knew I had to use that instead of .com. The stor...
