Claire was probably right to wager $4,501 given that Steve was more likely to go all in than stand pat, but it would have been interesting for her to wager $4,500 and risk the tiebreaker on both ends.
What is the tiebreaker for a two-day finals tie for second place?

Re: The Official TPH Education Thread (POTENTIAL GAME DAY SPOILERS)

Don’t you speak Spanish? The Spanish word for rice is arroz, which is fairly close to oryza . No it's not. That's how I got it. They really need to stop using "it sounds like X" as a TOM. That is the most subjective a TOM can possibly get. Cognates are a great way to learn vocabulary.

When I was looking at my profile, I noticed that they didn't even have an audition city for me, even though I am 100% certain I chose Tampa.
I had a similar glitch and had to use the contact form (twice) to get it fixed.

Re: The Official TPH Education Thread (POTENTIAL GAME DAY SPOILERS)

Let me ask you this. What have you learned about The Right Stuff since you posted that you knew nothing about it? That there is a thing called "The Right Stuff". Is it ever going to come up again? Highly unlikely. I doubt "amuse bouche" is ever going to come up again either. I mean highly unlikely....

The particular shows for a week are randomized by Standards and Practices (an independent third party) on the morning of the tape day, without regard to what contestants appear on which particular show.

The subject of the Final Jeopardy! clue spoiled it in a Tuesday afternoon post (as I discovered when I saw the link below in my Facebook newsfeed). I believe I would have gotten it anyway.

I'm up against JBoarder kickerofelves today. Best of luck!

(I'm also going to get relegated, but I think I deserved it; I was completely out of my league with the other B Typ(e)s.)

Can two people tie and get their money and move onto next show? The rule that tied winners are co-champions was recently changed. Now, there is a tiebreaker question to determine the sole champion (who will keep the winnings). See https://www.jeopardy.com/jbuzz/features/four-rare-jeopardy-scenarios...

1812 Overture seemed way too easy, so I figured it had to be something else.

Kristina needed to get FJ right to have a chance (because $3,400 is less than twice the difference between 1st and 2nd). Her wager gave up any chance of winning against rational wagers from her opponents.

Summer Hiatus Challenge 2017--Medal ceremony

After a month and a half of play, the thirteenth Summer Hiatus Challenge has come to a close. I first want to thank DadofTwins for creating the SHC and running it for its first decade. When I first created the scoring program as a summer project five years ago, I never thought I'd be standing in Dad...
