Re: TD387 - morbeedo's Revenge - Q8 & Bonus Results

And lost in all that was when I transferred my answer from Q7 Bonus to Q8, not only did I transfer something different, but it was wrong. At least I would have sheeped Q8 and not been incorrect.

I didn’t even know there was a city named Yreka. I just assumed it was there to sound similar to Eureka, which is where my answer came from.

WRONG ANSWER = 11 MattKnowles (Beijing - not a Winter Olympic host) It may be implied that you were looking for a Winter Olympics host, but nothing in the question explicitly requires it. This. I missed the deadline due to other issues, but I was planning on answering a summer city due to the lack ...

To be fair, my answer for #2 was also in reference to the child marsupial in the Hundred Acre Wood.

Re: TD 382 - CLASSIC AREA CODES 8xx (CLOSES MONDAY 3 PM EDT)

My strategy of attrition is paying off. Also, this will be interesting, as I completed this on my phone again since I thought I only had until this morning. I can't wait to see my autocorrect this time. (Edit: Now that I'm logged in on my computer I see the additional notification. This will still b...

Need to tell myself to RTFQ. I saw dice and ran with it, and took "double-six" to mean two six-sided dice. Not happy with myself on this one.

Palmer is a chocolate company based in Reading. They produce a lot of the seasonal novelty chocolates you see at Christmas, Valentine’s Day, and Easter. It fits the question. I see I didn't pin that well enough to Hershey. I can give you credit for that but I'm not optimistic about you winning this...

That is probably my most embarrassing incorrect answer ever, especially since I can name all 50, I just went on auto-pilot. On the plus side, an open letter to someone out there: Incorrect answers were gross, latka, lefke ( sorry ), limpa, malm, pierogie, piroshki, and Swedish tacos. Incorrect answe...

Not sure if there can be a grace period, or if I missed getting in on this one - I think I was in last of all the people who had submitted on the other ones, though, so no biggie. I always never get time during the week to submit, so I always end up submitting last-minute on my commute to work, and...

Re: TD 375 - CLASSIC AREA CODES 5xx (FINAL RESULTS)

I have no idea why this generated so many complaints. 9 of the 12 had lyrics with the titles sung. The two most popular were instrumentals. While I could guess a title based upon what was sung, I wouldn't be 100% certain, and I would hate to have gotten it wrong based upon omitting or adding a word...

In my defense, my phone cost me four points there. I typed "Suez", but it was very difficult for me to see what I had typed when I submitted via mobile and so I didn't notice it got auto-"corrected". C'est la vie. I'm more concerned for BobF's answer for Comiskey/the Cell/Guaranteed Rate being marke...

UNUSED Jones (My turn for a boner. I mixed up Jones Soda with Jones New York. As AT would say, "no harm, no foul on that one.") I would have gone with Jones Soda Co. but for the fact that I didn't think (correctly, as it turns out) that it had the name of another city in its products, and I might n...
