The Spanish government exhumed Francisco Franco in order to move him to another cemetery. Don’t know if they checked to see if he is still dead.
I understood that reference.

Re: LL82: LearnedLeague

There's nothing like a one-day special or minileague in learned league from outside your areas of expertise to make you feel dumb. It is about this far into the off season that I always start to doubt that I know anything. Just voicing my insecurities so that others can make fun of me or not feel a...

Re: LL82: LearnedLeague

I have yet to win a match in the current ML. At least 3 of those non-wins (1 tie) can be chalked up to shamefully poor defense.

Belated congrats to Trainman and MinnesotaMyron on their Top 15 finishes in the Chickens 1DS. I was a Tyson Foods away from joining y'all. :(
Congrats. I managed 37th, myself.

Re: LL82: LearnedLeague

How is the current ML and recent 1Ds going for the rest of you? I'm 0 for 2 on the ML thus far. It wouldn't have gotten me a win yesterday (I find using the Golden Arches theory in a theme of pop culture just because it involves McDonald's to be pushing it, but I digress), and as a big fan of comics...

Re: LL82: LearnedLeague

It was awkward phrasing, to be sure. The point I was trying to get across was that I missed questions for which I was assigned low points rather than missing other questions instead.

Re: LL82: LearnedLeague

I managed to lock myself a spot in the championships thanks to missing things I should have known the past 2 days. My opponents rightly gave me a low score on geography questions based on my record, and I managed to get neither of them but get the 3-pointers.

Re: LL82: LearnedLeague

I somehow managed to confuse the East and West Indies and guessed Havana. Luckily I managed to get Degas, for which my opponent gave me 3 points to squeak out a win. Now, with two days remaining, I still find myself in position for a championship placement. Guess I should start crowdfunding for a re...

Re: LL82: LearnedLeague

Only missed the musical term, but boy was my defense bad. It's always annoying to lose a match while getting more answers correct. How my opponent didn't know the Taco Bell menu I'll never know, but I guess some people are lucky enough to be able to cook at home on a daily basis.

Re: LL82: LearnedLeague

If I had had time to think, I MAY have gotten Australian Rules Football and Salvador Dali, but most likely not Vienna and definitely not Northern Exposure. I had forgotten to submit until well past the time limit and was just concerned about getting something, anything into the blanks and hope I did...

Re: LL82: LearnedLeague

Well, had my first loss of the season due to my defense being as bad as it could possibly be. 7(5)-8(4).

If only my head hadn't specifically gone toward transition metals for that book. How my opponent got it, I'm not really sure.

Re: LL82: LearnedLeague

I honestly have no idea how I've found myself in 1st place in an A rundle. I keep assuming there's going to be a course correction, but stuff I know just keeps coming up combined with a few (red red rose, especially) lucky guesses.

Re: LL82: LearnedLeague

I was lucky enough to forget that the Lion King remake happened and/or never considered it to fit the criteria. Didn't think Toy Story 4 had done THAT well, but it was the only big animated film I could think of that would have still been playing. I've been playing way above my pay grade so far this...

Re: LL82: LearnedLeague

Apparently "planet" wasn't accepted for "exoplanet". Though more confusing is 34% picking -black hole-. Black hole here. I think the question was a huge negbait for black hole, which was predicted decades earlier but the actual observation was sometime in the baby boomer era. I cycled through pulsa...

Re: LL81: LearnedLeague

Ah, nuts. Was so focused on prepping for today's job interview yesterday that LL completely slipped my mind and I suffered my first two forfeit losses. The only solace I can take is that with Science being the last day I wouldn't have pulled into championship contention, and with my Upsets opponent ...
