Re: Adult Online Test: Apr 9, 10, 11

I can only hope I do as well as I've done the past few years, but also get through the random selection afterward for the auditions. My luck, however, is abysmal.

Re: Confetti Discussion

It's getting more and more emotionally draining to continue losing this game. The fact that I can't monetize my only major skill during a lengthy unemployment is taking a major toll.

Re: LL79: For the LLamas

I didn't do very well, but I find fault with the -459 answer for Fahrenheit. I suppose, however, that it would come down to an argument over the difference between truncating and rounding (rounding, the answer is definitely -460). ??? My mental math got me from -273 to -459.4, which latterly both t...

Re: LL79: For the LLamas

I went 8/12 on Thermo but finished slightly ahead of former Harvard physics instructor (among other things) PahkJ. I haven't used thermo much since grad school. I had one of my highest-ever 1DS finishes in "Bird Nerds OR ELSE," which was a lot of fun. Top ten finish for me in that one for me! I hav...

Re: Confetti Discussion

I really should try to get more cohorts involved. I am woefully lacking in current pop culture and just can't bring myself to pay attention to the personal lives of celebrities.

Re: HQ Trivia

I knew peanut butter existed before Carver and that he had worked with other things. I managed to guess correctly on the 50/50 I had remaining. I was pretty sure peanut butter had existed before Carver, but the question asked for an item that he patented a process for creating, not for an item that...

I knew peanut butter existed before Carver and that he had worked with other things. I managed to guess correctly on the 50/50 I had remaining. The youngest age out of the three Oscar winners? Complete blind guess. If I had only listened to myself on the King question and not been shaking, that woul...

Re: HQ Trivia

One question short of my first Confetti victory (after weeks of being unable to make it work at all). There was at least one question I had absolutely no business getting correct, but I was still in at the end and, between not having a video feed and running out of time, I panicked and went against ...

Made a top 100 finish in the Novelty Country Music 1D despite not being able to play any of the sound clips. I have always been deeply invested in novelty tunes of all genres.

Begging your pardon, but I am marked as still having my Sheep available, but I used that on the Indy 500 question.

Re: TD 411 - Millennial Medley Revenge (Q2 Standings)

At least my alternative would've sheeped even worse on Q2...I'm a little embarrassed to say I had a huge country phase and Chattahoochee was one of my favorite songs at some point. Never be embarrassed to be a fan of 90s country. Never. 8-) At the very least, don’t be embarrassed by the Class of ‘8...

Re: LL79: For the LLamas

Is it just me, or was the grading on the Pun 1D unnecessarily harsh? I think Thorsten is in a pretty impossible spot on a quiz like that, and his system is not set up to have the quiz's writer assist with grading, (Beyond whatever guidelines they can give in advance) so he probably has to make a lo...

Remembered him hosting the first season of America's Got Talent, didn't think it was right because 2000 seemed too early, but also wasn't aware that Live With Regis and ______ was syndicated. I was sure it was o...

Re: LL79: For the LLamas

I stupidly added up all of the tolls shown along the route, including each on-ramp apparently, and had never read nor seen The Phantom Tollbooth, so there was no way I was going 12/12. Personally, I love Breezewood, but it may have more to do with the fact that it indicates the final leg of my yearl...
