Re: Tuesday, June 7, 2022 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Did anyone else have yesterday's episode rebroadcast in their local time slot? WLS seems to have glitched a bit on that, but I read through the j-archive for the day to catch up.

Re: Learned League 86 - Aug/Sep 2020

I'm personally surprised that I'm 2/2 in sports so far this season. Luckily the O2 is more than just a sports venue and I've heard Hockey Night In Canada referenced numerous times in other media.

This should course correct by season's end.

Re: Learned League 85 - Official Thread

I was in 2nd place in my group in the School of Rock ML, then tied on the last day which put me in 3rd. No championship for me, either.

Re: 2020 Jeopardy North American Audition Tour

So there's still hope for Chicago. I understand why, in the current uncertainty with when tapings will resume and travel arrangements, they'd still be keeping things close.

Wow, there just really hasn't been a lot happening with this, has there? I'd have hoped we'd have at least gotten word of more online interviews by now.

Re: Learned League 85 - Official Thread

Twice this week I missed questions that I ended up seeing answers to like a day later. LD50 showed up in an article I was reading, and Tuesday's Jeopardy!, which I didn't get to until Friday evening because I'm currently working again, dropped exactly the same information about the Musee D'Orsay as ...

Re: Learned League 85 - Official Thread

Two days and only two 2-0s, with everyone else having a tie or loss already. Only 20 in the rundle though. I got 3 for Iowa. My ART is only .464, but still. I may have guessed correctly regardless, but it certainly helped that the American Gothic house was mentioned as being in Iowa a day or ...

I can name one mime so my choices were limited.
I can also name Shields and Yarnell, but none of those three would have also been British musicians, so I had no clue.

Re: Notable Coronavirus Deaths

Since this one seems to have flown under the radar here, the world of voice acting lost a long-time performer, Julie Bennett, last week from complications.

Re: Learned League 84

Yes, the first day of the music ML was quite brutal. Got Raindrops and Chic (which was a complete ass pull... was the only disco/funk band I could think of that had men and women in it), then Leonard Cohen but not Joni Mitchell. I neither knew she was Canadian nor believed his song would use the sam...

Re: Learned League 84

Ended up in 2nd place after a 2(3)-3(4) loss on the final day. That's more like it. I just feel sorry for the poor sod who had a higher TCA than I did who was actually in the relegation zone at one point (and just one spot above it at the end) and for the one in 5th place who probably would have got...

Re: Learned League 84

I honestly don't know how I'm in 1st place in an A rundle on the last day. I'm not even close to having the most match points or correct answers, and I don't usually get this lucky with defense. I guess I'll take it, though?

Re: Learned League 84

I wonder how many of the 78% (failure rate) got the three names right but not the states? That would be me. I could have sworn I had it, but apparently (based on result) I flipped Clay and Calhoun. Didn't matter much, as I also missed harmonics and my opponent got all 6. Going back a couple days to...

Chicago, 41-42.

My wife also passed this year after narrowly not last year, also picked Chicago with a 42-43 (they can't remember how badly they may have spelled Macron).

Re: Online Test Recap & Discussion (Central), January 29, 2020

I like that so many other people here agree that Wednesday's test was harder. My wife got upset when I said the same thing after they passed Tuesday's, even though they still managed roughly the same score on both nights. My 47 for fun compared to 41-42 for real certainly FELT like one was harder th...

At least I'm in good company with being unable to come up with the seemingly simple "bony pony." Misses on Kondo ("I know this one! Wait, wait... well, I'd better put SOMETHING. *test ends* MARIE KONDO!"), Anne, Aniston, Baltic (geography buff that I am, seriously kicking myself ...
