Re: Monday, June 2, 2014 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

"If only Julia had gotten the Daily Double about the Greek word for a counting instrument originally referring to seashells (abacus) right...sigh." Wouldn't she have still lost in FJ? To quote Brando: Charlie: Look, kid, I - how much you weigh, son? When you weighed one hundred and sixty-eight poun...

If only Julia had gotten the Daily Double about the Greek word for a counting instrument originally referring to seashells (abacus) right...sigh. Nevertheless, congratulations to Julia Collins on her historic Jeopardy! run! Julia, you were a joy to watch all through your 20 episodes. See you in the ...

Re: Friday, May 30, 2014 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

I was hoping that Julia would get the clue involving Augusto César Sandino. I thought for sure his surname would ring the "Sandinistas" bell in her head. Oh, well. Happy 20th Julia!!! :D

Re: Wednesday, May 28, 2014 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

I give credit to Maggie for at least knowing who Manon (Lescaut) is. (Jules Massenet's opera is simply titled Manon. Pucccini's version is titled Manon Lescaut, after the title of the Abbé Prevost's novel.)

Re: Tuesday, May 20, 2014 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

I'm dismayed that Julia didn't answer the item qbout Bonn Beethoven's birthplace) correctly, but at least she did respond correctly to the clue about La Scala. I'm so pleased for Julia as she enters the lofty pantheon of elite mulitgame Jeopardy winners! :D

I'm @lappi. Like WooWho? (@whoisjoshwoo), I only post when I feel like it. I sometimes post on music-related topics and the arts in general. Sometimes I will respond in a somewhat humorous way to tweets I find interesting or unusual. Occasionally I will post on sociopolitical issues, but I am very c...

Re: Online Test Recap & Discussion (Pacific), January 9, 2014

I experienced a power failure, so I was not able to take tonight's test. Oh, well, there's always next year. Hope springs eternal! :) I looked at sherder 's video of tonight's quiz (an invaluable service on her part!), and I got 41 out of 50 correct. However, if I had been able to take the quiz "liv...

Re: Registration now open for adult online test

Perhaps someone has already answered this. I would like to take today's online quiz for practice. I am already registered for tomorrow's test to take it "for real". Can I register to take today's quiz for practice or not?

Re: 2013 Summer Hiatus Challenge -- Medal Ceremony and Closing Credits

I am greatly humbled by the honor of being this year's winner of the SHC tournament. Unlike last year, however, this time I get to share the glory and the fun; congratulations to my cowinner Schliemann ! :) :D ( TomKBaltimoreBoy , I was pulling for you to win, but I guess that was not to be this yea...
