Re: I'm Sick and Tired of my Posts getting deleated

1) publicly whining about moderation never ends well. 2) if you don't like having your posts deleted, stop making crappy posts like this: I'm ready for Ryan to take a hike sick of watching him and he has to be one of the worst Super Champions in history of Jeopardy. 3) LOLOL there's no freedom of sp...

Re: Thursday, July 19, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Mental note, Richard Donner was never nominated for an Oscar Damn shame, given his body of work. 3 DDs hit, 3 correct answers, 3rd place. Bleargh. I can't imagine having so little confidence while leading for most of the game. And then all of the high value clues left over for Ryan to scoop up, wit...

Re: Wednesday, July 18, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Gore no, Dole no, GHWB no x2 (I forget what Dukakis was), Mondale no, Reagan/Carter -> 1980, plenty of time to spare. Welcome to the ranks of the superchampions, Ryan. A strange road to be sure, but 6 wins is 6 wins. Hopefully between "now" and the next TOC he studies a bit more, because... He gives...

Re: Tuesday, July 17, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Slam dunk, instaget, gotta-be-a-triple-get FJ.

On the one hand, I shouldn't be surprised since this is consistent with her other wagers, but yeesh. If Ryan had wagered to cover Bunny by $1 and let Michelle off the hook I would've been annoyed.

So, Vincent is going to be invited back: http://www.chicagotribune.com/entertainment/tv/ct-ent-jeopardy-vincent-valenzuela-20180716-story.html ...Valenzuela also wrote “tree hugger” down, but then crossed it out and wrote scientist “Carl Sagan.” He said the clue that was posted on the screen for th...

Re: TD387 - morbeedo's Revenge - Final Results

Another fun TD! I wasn't sure if you wanted his professional name or full, but since I knew how to spell it, I figured I might as well. And if I can't get a singleton with that mouthful, then I might as well quit

Re: Friday, July 13, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]

I had FJ right just from 'slang for environmentalist', the rest just made me chuckle. I started walking out of the room, sure of a triple get...and then I saw Vincent's response. I can't imagine what thought process led to Carl Sagan. When it comes to FJ wagers, I've decided to start the summer brea...

Re: Thursday, July 12, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]

Not quite instaget, but 1970's novel + water narrowed it down and the lightbulb went off pretty quickly. I don't remember any of the clues Mark posted, but that first line would've made it even easier. Those wagers...woof. Not sure why I bothered calculating their optimal wagers, when I was pretty s...

Re: Monday, July 9, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Always nice to see a savvy wager win a game for a player where most in that position would lose. Good wager from third as well, most of the time third wins this game with that wager. I actually worked out the ideal wagers during the break, then discarded them because I thought for sure they'd make ...

Retail had me thinking brick-and-mortar, and I was wondering if "value" was literal or a synonym (Costco? Best Buy??)...until it dawned on me about 20 seconds in that Value was the V in QVC. 1986 seeemed to be the right year for the launch of a new home shopping outfit as well. That Tallahassee DD c...

"Most widely read work of fiction" by a female American author? Probably Uncle Tom's Cabin. Let's go with Louis---WAIT NO, Harriet Beecher Stowe!! Wait, speaking of Alcott, was Little Women more widely read? ......nah, stick with Stowe. Whew, that would have been the most aggravating miss in ages.

Re: Tuesday, July 3, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]

I am female and have a Ph.D. in mathematics. I feel as if I need to state my credentials to make my point. When I studied wagering before my taping, trying to keep all of the scenarios straight just about made my head spin. For wagering from second, I decided that I could do the following "under th...

Re: Wednesday, July 4, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]

The second it said "these 3 men", I wanted to punch the screen. An exciting shootout of a game, and it ends with that guaranteed triple get. Bleargh. Also, pancreas as a DD when spotted insulin wasn't so hot either. I'm a little rusty when it comes to ties: if Kate hadn't held back $50, who would've...

It's called Stratton's Dilemma, and what to do in Stratton's Dilemma is not universally agreed upon. To be fair, she could've covered 3rd with a wager of 6001, which would've left her with 8399, still enough to beat Jim on the TS (and also Dave; I dare someone to explain the logic behind his wager)...

So 'TV actress Cox' doesn't warrant a BMS...in a category with two of them as answers. OK then judges.

Who was it that said that BMS requests should be met with a response of 'no, give me my money'?
