"12? Rat and dragon? Sounds like the Chinese zodiac. Um...Confucius? No that doesn't make sense...was it a Buddhist thing? Eh, sure, Buddha." Whatever works.

They might as well have put a picture of an ACME catalog on the screen.

Also, J! writers, Robert Jordan's The Wheel of ____ for 1600? Um, no.

Re: Friday, September 14, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Capitals + TV Guide = an easy 6k to start things off. And they got all of the capitals right! For FJ, the year meant nothing, 'posthumous' didn't seem relevant, and the name didn't ring a bell, but after staring at the name for about 10 seconds, axel -> figure skating finally clicked. I'll join the ...

Re: Tuesday, September 11, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Not sure what Lori's FJ wager was supposed to accomplish, other than making viewers at home think "Rick should've bet it all!", which isn't the lesson we should be teaching. (The correct lesson is, "Rick should've bet more on that DD!") Too bad. I thought he had a couple more days in him. Instaget F...

Also, there's no reason for me to not know the Ivy League schools automagically. I keep telling myself I'l re-memorize them, and then I forget. It took every last nanosecond of Isaac's struggles to pull out Princeton  First game of the season and we're already getting LTaM warnings with 8 clu...

Re: New J! web site, all old file links are 404'd

I signed in (using Firefox), nothing happened. Then I refreshed two or three times, and it finally showed me as logged in.

As an aside, when did they change J!6? I havent played since the end of last season, and it seems worse to me now.

#12 - S.O.S. and nothing ever changes as even 20-0 was not enough of a cushion for Chi against GB.
I wonder how many people went to bed early, figuring "OK, 20-0, Rodgers is on the cart, Kizer sucks, Khalil Mack is eating them alive, it's over".

Re: Jeopardy All-Star Games

Not a fan of the silly 'each player plays one round' format (it ensures everyone gets screen time, I'm just not sure how 1/3 of a game from each of them will be more entertaining than a full game), but I won't say no to a chance to see some of J!'s best again. I think Stephanie Jass might have been ...

Re: Summer Hiatus Challenge 2018--Round 6 Instant Replay (SPOILERS)

I almost clammed the 15pter because it seemed too obvious, but the Apia and Pago Pago hints were too strong (J! triple stumpers notwithstanding).

The low get rate for Grim Fandango makes me sad (it would make my inner child sad, but it's long gone). One of my all-time favorites.
