Hi, everyone, glad you are enjoying the finals! I'm not enjoying it; I'm dying of a severe case of edema! Yes, no doubt that Roger's not feeling too "swell" about missing that DD  I wonder how Watson would have done in "Medical Terms," considering that he is being used to assist with diagnosi...

I'm sure I'm not the only one on this board who remembers the following movie blooper. In the film Miracle on 34th Street , there is an infamous scene in which Kris Kringle tells Fred Gailey about how familiar he is with the standard psychological examination. He says to Fred, "Who was vice presiden...

Re: Thursday, February 27, 2014 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

If I ever appear on the show, it might happen to me. But then I read about the folks who practiced buzzing at home, who made flash cards, who kept up on current events, and so on. Okay, maybe these people have a lot of free time, but they made an effort and did well. Arthur is one of these people -...

Re: New old games in the J-Archive

I just finished putting in Rachael Schwartz game 4. It's funny how the dollar amounts for a contestant will occasionally be incorrect during game play. If you blink, you might not see when the error gets corrected. After I finished DJ, I struggled to figure out why one contestant's score was off by ...

Re: Your Screenname: What inspired it?

When I joined jboard back in January 2012, I had just recently taken the online test, and I was hoping that I might get an audition some day. I auditioned in April 2012, and got the call from Maggie about 4 months later. I enjoyed playing in the Season 29 Teachers Tournament . My screen name is obvi...

Re: Thursday, July 11, 2013 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

I precalled several clues in the "sailing in the movies" category. They didn't mention my favourite movie scene involving sailing: Bob Wiley's exclamation "I'm sailing!!!!" Brian They also could have used this clue: In the film High Society , this was the name of C.K. Dexter-Haven's yacht, on which...

Re: Literature Pavlov Question - Complete Literary Canons

Although you can't say they ask about Russian novelists in the same light as "other countries" lol... it seems like they want you know at least a handful of Russian authors and I'm guessing the Russians make up the largest non-English (author) speaking questions in literature - or maybe the French ...

Practice. They give you several rounds to warm up before taping, so use that as an opportunity to get your timing down. And other than that, pray. Having played three times against Colby Burnett, I can say that what often happens during game play is that you focus SO MUCH on your buzzer timing and ...
