Re: Monday, June 24, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

The DD for Justin was a terrible answer. The math portion of the answer is exponent but the most common answer for the 2nd half of the question is proponent. I was as confused Justiin was. Bring Justin back! Even if he had gotten it right, he still loses the game. And there's also the small matter ...

Drones.

Had heard of Harry Styles and "God is a Woman" - the latter only because of this question in Learned League Season 78.

Re: LL81: LearnedLeague

I very confidently wrote Bass Strait for Q1. My opponent and I both missed that question, but I won 6(4) - 4(4) because I assigned it 3 points and my opponent assigned it 1. (Admittedly, geography is my 3rd-best subject.) He also inexplicably made Heather the 3-pointer. With 3 match days to go, some...

 I wonder if Ypsilanti has a Midwest bias in the responses. For my part, I just went through all the E Michigan cities I could think of until a likely name appeared. Detroit, Dearborn, Flint all no. I even considered Lansing and Ann Arbor though I doubted they’d be called Eastern Ypsilanti...

Re: LL BWA Entries

For Aaron Spelling's last series before he died, I went with "Heaven Couldn't Wait". I knew 'heaven' was in there, but no way I was pulling that one. "What TV series, which centered on the Glenoak, California, family of Protestant Reverend Eric Camden and his wife Annie . . ." I said "How I met you...

Did the math on Vicki.. died in 1901, 65 years, would put her start during Jackson (7) and ending with McKinley (25), and not counting Cleveland twice. : :geek:
Victoria became queen in June 1837, by which time Van Buren had succeeded Old Hickory in the White House.

No guess on FJ! Could be literally of the 847,329 queens of England.
There's been 6.
And only 2 who reigned in 1789 or later.

Re: Tuesday, June 18, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Eesha found out the clue was a little more difficult than that getting caught with the current monarch. Too bad she did not recall the clue earlier in the game that wanted Elizabeth I as that likely ruled out QEII for the FJ! round. After writing the correct name I put the pen down and then wondere...

Re: Jeopardy 2019 North American Audition Tour

On FB there was a post about a pub trivia night and J! contestant coordinators coming up in Washington, D.C., so Austin's place has company for that format of potentially finding contestants. The way I read the thread about it on the LL message board, it was ambiguous, but it sounds like Mehrun's e...

I had to cancel my Savannah audition at the last minute because I lost my job and couldn't afford to go. It was one of the worst feelings of my life. Sorry about this. If you keep in touch with TPTB, maybe you can reschedule for another city before the next online test. Hope it works out! I emailed...

Perhaps it's the part of me that's still annoyed about missing this FJ a couple of years ago, but 'no new cases in 40 years' = instaget for me. Finally a 5/5 week.
There was some atrocious wagering on that FJ from 2017.

Re: Friday, June 14, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

there's no correct response to this FJ That's silly. The last case could've been in 1776 and it still would've been accurate to say that there hadn't been a case in 40 years. I assume you read my entire post, including the ETA that was added 12 minutes before your post, and that you're just trying ...
