Re: The 2021 Tournament of Champions Is Happening Next Month

I noticed they finally added John Focht to the tracker on the official site. Unbelievable that nobody has hit four wins since then. The way regular play has been going lately, it will be a LONG time before the next ToC. They might also just include some 3x winners if they can't fill up the field in...

Re: Monday, May 17, 2021 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Wow, lol. I feel very vindicated predicting Ryan to make the finals now. Would love to see him rematch with both Sam and Jason for the finals, though I'm still rooting for Jennifer to get a spot and win it all. Or Mackenzie.

Re: Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions alternates - who were they

Steven Grade informed me about the conditions in determining this TOC's alternates on Reddit. Turns out there were two alternates this time, probably because of pandemic conditions. So with all the info I've gathered, and mathematically run off of since the beginning of the show's inception, the alt...

Re: How Did Anderson Cooper Do as Host

Started off strong, but he kinda trailed off a bit as the show went on. I'd probably give him a 7, below Ken and Aaron.

Re: Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions alternates - who were they

1991 was NOT Seth Davis, for what that's worth. I believe Seth's run was in the '92 season. And he wasn’t an alternate then either. He was never an alternate is what I am attempting to communicate. I apologize for confusing the calendar year of his appearance with the television season. Yes I know ...

Re: New old games in the J! Archive

UPDATE: Found an article that mentions the number $47,200 but it says that he won that in a single day, which we all know isn't true. They very possibly could have mistaken that with his 4-day total, but I don't know if this is actual proof. The "single day" thing isn't that far out when you consid...

Re: New old games in the J! Archive

Does anyone happen to know the returning champ Bruce Naegeli defeated in his first game? I was scrolling through season 4 trying to figure out the gaps between missing games to see if there was possibly another 4-time champion with more money than Michael Shutterly, since it turns out that he was al...

Re: Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions alternates - who were they

This is a bit of a tangent: that article says he won the last three games of 1985 and lost the January 1 game. It's been said the infamous clip of the player who has failed to phrase her FJ response in the form of a question and loses as a result was from January 1, 1986. There are no close-ups of ...

Woo! Our biggest winner since John Focht. He stands at 279th on the all-time leaderboard at the moment. Will update the leaderboard whenever his run ends, or when he reaches 4 games.

Re: Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions alternates - who were they

https://www.newspapers.com/clip/76531876/ it appears Dan Alves, 3-time champion for the 1986 season, had a higher total than Steve Willis ($36,100 to $31,000). Paul Rouffa mentioned his name sounding familiar when asked about alternates for his TOC, but couldn't put a face or memory to his name. Mor...

Re: New old games in the J! Archive

Dan Alves, an engineering supervisor from Santa Maria, California. Season 2 3-time champion: $36,100 Ooh! Good information!! Do you have a source for this? Edit: https://www.newspapers.com/clip/76531876/ found it. That's more than Steve Willis won with $31,000, which may suggest he could have been ...

Re: The all-time Jeopardy! leaderboard (1984-present) (MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS)

List has been updated to include all $25,000+ winners from the pre-doubled era (as of now) and Mike Nelson. All 4-time champions are accounted for as well. Barbara Lowe is no longer on the list until I can get an official confirmation of what her 5-day total was, if ever. Dan Alves and Rob Lai are t...
