Re: Learned League 88 - Feb/Mar '21
On the Alaska question my first thought was Gadsden Purchase, and when I let Alaska creep into my mind, I thought it was still during Lincoln's presidency. But slowly 1867 started to feel plausible for Alaska. The one way I had to verify it was to convert the square mileage in the question to acreag...

Melis added a "Hi" in her FJ! response. It kind of looks like Ayden though I'm not sure about the "e". I know there's a Turkish name Aydın complete with dotless i. I can't see the mystery character as that, but food for thought. Edit: she confirmed on Facebook that it's Aydin, with a dot (pronounce...

I went to the uploader's channel and watched Addison Goodson's first game. When I was done I did the "swipe down to refresh" thing on the list of videos, and all but one disappeared.

Who is the missing five timer? Dennis Donohue https://www.j-archive.com/showplayer.php?player_id=2872 He played against all three finalists in his ToC. I bet not a lot of people hold that distinction, although I suppose all you have to do is play against two future finalists in the QF, win or get a...

I almost said quilt, solely because there had been a question about it as an art form a year and a half ago (Harriet Powers was the artist in that question). But then for no reason I decided that "Street Story Silver" had a nice ring to it.

My dad got Williams before I could pull his name, but I think I would have come up with that, so I gave myself credit. Just $200 and $400 for me, which I count as a victory.
