Re: Monday, February 17, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

420 is not on the banned wager list so Terry was able to make that his FJ! round wager. Does the 4337 by Tom have any meaning? I always like to take these opportunities to point out that 4/20 is my very appropriate birthday. Yay Terry! Don't know about 4337, but a college tourney player years ago w...

Leibnitz was my first bottom row get of the GOAT tourney, so, yes, it's way too easy for bottom row in a ToC. I almost had "Good day, sir", but had "Good bye, sir."
Thanks! That's the TS I got. I'm amazed it went unanswered. Maybe they all hesitated because of good day/goodbye

Re: Trivial fundraiser

Also, if you contributed, either from seeing my appeal or from seeing this earlier elsewhere, It would be great if you'd note it on this thread. No need to list the amount, just "I gave!" That'll help keep this appeal on the first page and there's nothing like a little peer pressure to get folks to ...

Trivial fundraiser

Tova Perlmutter (Generalist) has organized a fundraiser for her friend and trivia nerd Andy Arnold (who may also have once frequented these parts?). Andy is enrolled in a program for autistic students at Western Kentucky University, and needs to clear an $8000 debt to continue. Many in the LearnedLe...

I owe my concluding six-pack (and victory) to flying Southwest: their I -flight magazine is rife with ads for Britney in Vegas. Life in the new A Murder: 163 TMP and 117 TCA was good enough for 20th  Congrats to all my fellow boardies on avoiding relegation as well. Ha! Ha! 111 TCA was enough...

Fine. Time to start a new thread -- Tax Efficient Charitable Giving. As someone who returned here to see what people were saying about Cindy's inspiring run, I found the increasing domination of the thread by this tangential topic rather off-putting. A bit like heirs squabbling over their inheritanc...

Am I the only person who got Maryland by remembering Phelps' drunk driving arrest was in Baltimore?

Amazed that such a well-prepared and game show experienced player failed to make the right DD bet at the end. So glad she did. Made my second contribution to CRI after this thrilling win.

Can we please shelve the tax discussion? I think it is needlessly pedantic and trivial to focus on conflicting guesses of the tax implications game show winnings and charitable donations. Let's focus on the amazing and heartbreaking performance that Cindy has done over 5+ games. If you want to focu...
