The FJ! clue was one where I knew what to do with the seasons while the contestants did not.
Thankfully, I did, too.

This is...remarkable. I only didn't assign that zero on defense because of the Breton question.
So you’re saying everyone knows Pepin?!
I would think Pepin the Short is fairly well-known.

Re: Millionaire 2018-19 Season Discussion [SPOILERS]

I checked both Merriam-Webster and the OED, and both confirmed my thought that bimonthly can mean either twice a month OR every two months. I'm absolutely baffled that they would use that question. From GSN's Common Knowledge a few days ago and copied from here: https://bobbymgsk.wordpress.com/cate...

I would bet not. At best it's tied with TRANSPORTATION.
And JEOPORMANTEAU (they've used PORTMANTEAUS and JEOPORTMANTEAU!, but could have broken the tie if they had used JEOPORTMANTEAUS)

Re: Millionaire 2018-19 Season Discussion [SPOILERS]

I'm glad I didn't get that type of question, even though I could easily work through it. I would just hate to stand there going through all 50 (or at least until I hit 8 capitals). Back when I was good at probability, I tried to calculate the odds of a .300 hitter getting a 56 game streak. IIRC, th...

That capitals question was the perfect time to methodically work your way across the map and figure it out, rather than bounce around and get mixed up.
That's what I did, but I still only got to 8 (missed Des Moines), but at least that would have been enough to make me realize I missed one.

Re: Wednesday, January 9, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Three out of the five composers got pronounced incorrectly. Wagner with w sound rather than a v, Verdi with the first syllable rhyming with fur rather than fair, and Haydn to rhyme with maiden rather than Biden. So of course Alex only asks for a repeat on one response in the category--the correctly...

As an aside, those who poo-poo the concept of "icing" the kicker may have to rethink that position. I, too, am on the side of "stupid idea". Especially, as Euphonium mentioned, as there would still be time on the clock and you might really need that time out to try and score again. This is one of t...
