Re: Tuesday, December 5, 2023 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
I’m not sure what I’m allowed to say about the answers given in the Almost Assassinated category given the years. Reagan in 1975? John Paul II in 1962? Castro in 1933? Perhaps they didn’t realize the year given had to be during their respective terms of service? Wow. Also, consider how they botched...

Fun fact: Fordham Dosent Play Sports in the Patriot league Except for Football, They Play in the Atlantic 10. so technically they are in The Patriot league. I said Fordham out loud at home, but probably would've clammed on the show for this reason. I'm a Fordham grad, so I obviously nailed it. Also...

Re: OBIT: Alex Trebek
I was on the way home from church when I saw the news on my phone. I knew it was coming, but he gave it his all. I've been watching since I was 4 and I will continue to watch. Same here. We came out of church and I turned the phone on, and there it was. + Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, And le...

Re: Season 37 changes and predictions
And besides how long did for original Jeopardy! fans (Flemming era) to accept Alex on a regular basis? If I recall, it took them a long time for them to do so (similar in timeframe its taken from Bob's retirement from Price to now with Drew as host) I'm one of those old-timers who go back to to Art...

Re: Monday, October 26, 1992 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
RIP, Regis. When Donna Mills was talking about her made-for-TV-movie about a President who has a secret love child with a member of the press (?), they chose that moment to put up a graphic stating that the episode aired on October 26, 1992. Was that to let viewers know that this was before Bill Cli...

Re: What's in store for the 3 Jeopardy giants after GOAT?
I agree. But here's a thought. We can't ignore the elephant in the room forever. At some point, the show will need a new host. How about nominating Ken for the job?

Re: Friday, May 3, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
Did anyone else hear a note of annoyance in Alex's voice when James interrupted him as he was saying, "That begins and ends with W"? I can't believe that I'm actually looking forward to the Teachers Tournament - an unnecessary tournament restricted to members of an occupation that is alrea...

Re: Thursday, March 21, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
I'm fortunate that I'm not feeling my age physically, but life reminds you that you're getting older. I'm playing oboe in Beethoven's First Symphony this semester with a 30-year-old (excellent) conductor. The first time I played Beethoven's First was before he was born! Very often now, a clue comes...

Re: Previous J! contestants: Did you track money in real time?
I probably glanced up at it a few times also, but mostly when the Daily Doubles were in play. When you're up there onstage, time moves so fast, it's not possible to focus on the scoreboard. You're so fixated on the Game Board, that's really all you see. I barely even remember looking at Alex the who...

Re: Alex Trebek Announces Diagnosis of Pancreatic Cancer
What a week! It was bad enough that Alex had to make this horrible announcement. Then the very next day, this life-long Met fan learned that Tom Seaver (the greatest Met of them all) is suffering from dementia, and has to retire from public life. May God strengthen them both for the upcoming trials ...

Re: What if they changed the tournament format so that the last-place finisher in the first day of the finals is elimina
If they want to treat this as a one hour final with four boards, they could at least let them bet Day 1 money in DD's and FJ. Interesting. Maybe Day 2 would be the Triple Jeopardy and Quadruple Jeopardy rounds. Clue values from $800 to $4000 in TJ and $1600 to $8000 in QJ. And maybe they can carry ...
