Re: LL83: Learned League

3 for Frost/Nixon and a 1 for Andorra? Yeah, I'm winning the match with that kind of defense.

Re: It's happening!!! The GOAT Tourney, w/ Brad + Ken + James

... I also understand that the typical non-jeopardy fan knows the first three, but not the other 6. I really doubt there is that big of a gap between them. Roger Craig likely wins the battle of the decades over Ken and Brad, if it wasn't for the All in wagers. If the boards are hard, Holzhauers str...

Re: Wednesday, November 20, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

The FJ! clue was a good one for me since I knew all parts of earlier book/later movie and the rhyme. It's the kind of thing that is nice to know quickly with so much to write. It's possible that just with the category and 1975 I could have taken a correct try at it.

Was the first break a game of spot the board member?
Who was it?
The quick look had me pretty sure, though not certain, it is Spiny Norman who posted he was at the taping. Blue/white checked shirt far right, second row.

Re: LL83: Learned League

When I submitted only TN was a correct response. I must have spent at least 10 minutes on that question going over all the states and thinking about movies/musicals. I finally gave up and went with IL in thinking Chicago could be part of it even though I did not have a second part. It would have bee...

Re: Wednesday, November 20, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

There went the streak of 61-clue games. The writers had too many categories with overly long names and Disney had a bunch of video elements. There were also scattered clues with images. Elise owned the buzzer and she insisted on full category names plus the "please" too the extreme. It's a simple st...

And one more thing - No squawking about Isabelle as it's fine. You are more than welcome to get on the show and say Isabella.

Was the first break a game of spot the board member? https://i.ibb.co/jVXYvY6/spiny.jpg Alex was ready to follow up on Kevin's chat session yesterday with an opening twist of, "Hey, Johnny." Part of doing well on the show is understanding categories. ISLANDS IN THE "C" had the players not getting wh...

Sorry if this has already been answered, but is $76,923 the record for highest two-day total in the finals of a TOC? And where would Emma's $65,000 rank? Some of the stats from ToCs either for comparison or having bigish numbers 2017: Buzzy 24299 2015: Alex 48300 2013: Colby 36600 2011: Roger 51200...

Re: It's happening!!! The GOAT Tourney, w/ Brad + Ken + James

Decisions have been made and locked in. First to three makes sense and I'll say now that no way it goes to seven nights. My bet is four with whoever is the best showing it by only losing one match. It would be nice if each gentleman could win at least one match both for not taking a goose egg and fo...

Otherwise there is no excuse for the actor playing Mister Rogers going TS. Buzzer system malfunctioned and the judges said "No harm, no foul". Thanks for sharing the intel from the Reddit poster. I wonder if that person is one of the contestants, someone else in the player pool, audience member civ...

Maphead by Ken Jennings makes a clue. Even though Brad Rutter leads KJ for money won it's KJ that leads for mentions in clues. Kevin's story about Alex's opening words with variations on "Johnny" was funny and Alex used, "Thank you, Johnny" today, option B. Monitor distance? Otherwise there is no e...

So glad James won. Close one and his second "loss" tonight though. Looking forward to the next big tournament now. 2001 ToC Finals 1: Tad Carithers: 3300-2000=1300 Brad Rutter: 6000-3500=2500 Rick Knutsen: 6500-3500=3000 Has Brad lost to a human or not? Thanks for the game and happy to see more than three at the trophy level. I've seen all the Toy Story movies at the same theater and sat in the exact same seat for 3 & 4, so had to go for Bullseye. It's easy in my head to hear Melinda Dillon saying, "Victor!" for the horse name mentioned in A Christ...

No trash for me and no clue on the measurement wanting volume whether the category played in order or not. 3/5 for me without pausing in BD&A getting $400, $1600 & $2000, ready to ring in before Alex finished reading. During the last break I did the math to see James did not have it locked. Realizin...
