Re: Monday, February 19, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]

I only watched the start of the first episode of Alienist , but I looked it up at the time, and apparently, the term "alienist" is an old-fashioned term for psychologist, so I don't think that any other answer should be accepted. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alienist And yet, Trebek, said psychiat...

Re: Monday, February 19, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]

Rob, any significance to the ear tug that you would be willing to share? It looked very much like something besides, "hmm, my ear itches". From previous Rob posts: I had three very enthusiastic cheerleaders. (my wife, her mom and aunt) + shameless flirtation with a hottie in the audience!   ...

Re: Millionaire 2017-18 Season Discussion [SPOILERS]

It's a good week for former J! contestants on Millionaire - Guy Jordan, Sara Lehmann, and Keith Williams are on. I'd post the preview, but it has a pretty big spoiler. One of those three was on today. The last question from the 2/19 episode: Guy Jordan going for $7,000: http://www.j-archive.com/sho...

Re: Monday, February 19, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]

Part of a post I made in the Current Events thread last month: TNT show: The Alienist with Daniel Brühl, Luke Evans & Dakota Fanning based on Caleb Carr bestseller from 1994, the first in the Kriezler series. Alienist is an archaic term for psychiatrist or psychologist. Theodore Roosevelt is a polic...

Re: Term for getting all clues in a horizontal row?

Unless they do it one right after the other, six clues in a row, left to right, I don't feel like it merits specific terminology. Same way you shouldn't get applause unless you sweep a full category 1-2-3-4-5. agreed, but I love the idea too! quick let’s coin it just in case I did it today! :D so f...

Re: Term for getting all clues in a horizontal row?

dhkendall had the following buried in another post, and I thought it interesting enough to devote a thread to it. After all, we do love our jargon. The three clues left on the board deprived me of three "horizontal runs" (that is, getting all the clues of a specific dollar value correct on the boar...

Re: FJs for the 2/12/18 week

I have a question about Friday's final jeopardy. My guess was "Neverland". I am curious as to whether that would have been acceptable or not. My first instinct would be that it would since its more commonly published that way and still refers to the same place. Unfortunately nobody on the show gues...

Macarena is only 88% right now? I don't remember anyone else in the thread saying they missed it... You and the accountant are the two on the J! Board that have posted missing the clue. The other three are within their rights to vote without sharing their results. All five of you so far can find co...

I would have taken Anna’s FJ response.
They may have taken the postal abbreviation or the first four letters and a period. As the game went it's only about one overpriced trip vs. another one.

Re: New old games in the J! Archive

there is a lot of unfilled info for certain season 18 episodes what videos should need to be filled in. 2002 Late Jan 2002- Early Feb 2002 Most of Feb 2002 Wave your magic wand and make the process of inputting a game minutes instead of hours. There's about 40 games to go for Season 18. When the Ar...

Re: Friday, February 16, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]

If Vinay had solved the FJ! clue then DD3’s wager would have really mattered. Not so much, given the FJ wagers. Oh yeah, right. 25K is just a bit short of Rob's 32K and way below the needed cover up to $35,600. I wonder if Vinay had the right story and turned the Darling family nursery into the inf...

Re: Friday, February 16, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]

They both put "Never Never Land". "Neverland" would have been accepted, of course, but I wonder if one is technically more right than the other? The clue does not cite a specific work and Wikipedia article adds even more variations that would have to fly. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neverland Sin...

Rob: DD1 set the table for you and Alex to have a Draccent-off as I know the host would have followed suit if you had done it. Only one of five clues played in REALITY TV SHOWS? I feel like my Coryat was deprived of 2800. I found a blog post Vinay made in October 2012: http://vinaykadiyala.blogspot....

Re: J! in the Media

I finally got around to doing some fact checking for the 2/6/18 episode of Fresh Off the Boat. The episode takes place in 1998 with a mention of it being Year of the Tiger. Fine, so far. A cover of TV Guide is shown with the Crane brothers and "Frasier's Edge." Okay. Jeopardy! is being watched and t...
