Re: It's a Hand! It's Michigan! category poll (1/3/20 spoilers)

I drove across Michigan once and it happened that there was a prison escape from Jackson that night. Some things you don’t forget.

Re: LL83: Learned League

I went 5/6, missing the question about Markhov. I used to love Rem back then but I had no sympathy for the deviled ham yet I’ve always been aware of it. I saw that awful Terminator: Dark Fate. I’ve tried to put it out of my mind...

WECIB FJ. I actually did a report on Nellie Bly in elementary school. This is at least the second time they mentioned that Pill/Ibiza song & still no one got it.

Re: Tuesday, December 10, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Oh, to see someone I actually know on the show! I worked with Shane’s Dad for 20+ years and Shane had an internship in our organization. I was rooting for him but I do like the current champ too. Easy boards today although I did miss the last 3 Shark-uterie clues. Oh well. My own Dad took us all to ...

6 for 6! I went to see Knives Out on Sunday and there was a preview for Bombshell. It looks interesting.

Roxette was part of an answer last week. The Swedish singer of that 80’s band passed away this morning.

Re: LL83: Learned League

I was 6/6. I barely beat my opponent who scored 5. I wasn’t sure about the geometry question but I think that I’ve seen that shape a few times. I’m just glad I answered at all. I’m in NYC for a visit and I almost forgot to submit!

Manx is Isle of Man. Mancs has never been an abbreviation for Mancunians that I’ve ever seen. J is getting sloppy. Easy FJ. LOL at whoever had the joke about (hopefully) not seeing New England in the Super Bowl. They are annoying!

RIP Rudy.

I like Noura just because she’s so crazy. I’m rooting for a Lairo (original) to win overall, especially Elaine, Missy, or Elizabeth.

I heard the answer to theology but I hadn’t heard the question. I surprised myself in that classical category!

I’m going to Zimbabwe next year and I seem to know a bit about Africa anyway. This was an instaget for me. Frustrating game to watch.

USA Today will stop publishing its paper, switching to online only. Coincidentally there was a clue on tonight’s show about their first issue in 1982.

Trade winds popped on J! last night but I’d already submitted my answers. I went 6 for 6 on what was the easiest board for me this season. Slim Whitman ads were ubiquitous in the 70’s/80’s. I’m in the A Rundle but I think I finished at 21 or so.

I’ve been to the Sydney Opera House on a tour and then I saw a modern rendition of Henry V there. It wasn’t very good but when I was there, no operas were performed.

I suspect the reason for the high correct answer level for Bechdel was that she was an answer on HQ trivia the night before. I wouldn’t have remembered her for any other reason.

Re: Monday, September 23, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

TIL that America's Cup is named after a boat rather than a country. That was a nasty DD, particularly in the second box. Odd. I thought that was fairly common knowledge. I think I learned it from Jeopardy! (most recently 12/24/2013)... The most surprising thing about FJ to me was Jason's apparent l...

Re: LL82: LearnedLeague

I actually saw a Carlton game when I was in Melbourne. I sat next to 2 old guys who very nicely explained everything to me. I enjoyed the game as much as any nfl game I’ve been to. I did mention on a later flight up to Cairns that I’d gone to that game & my seatmate disparaged that sport. She prefer...

FJ: WECIB? Jefferson is on the $2 but that only started in the 70’s, right?

I’m glad to see Jason continue his streak. I liked James when he was on but that promo for the ToC isn’t making me look forward to the ToC.

Hey, I’m a retired air traffic controller too! I only saw blips though. I was torn between rooting for Jason or Barbara. I have seen The Maltese Falcon & “Fat Man” is mentioned a lot. Plus there was a movie about the bomb starting Paul Newman call Fat Man & Little Boy. And yeah, that heavy metal cat...

Rafa Nadal won his 4th US Open on Sunday and it was his 19th Grand Slam overall. He’s one behind Federer at 20. The graceless Federer neglected to congratulate Rafa.

I was in Greenland in July & they’re very proud of that park. I own the Folsom prison CD. I could only think of Texas Instruments because of the Dallas TOM. Foley was my best get which gave me my only perfect day so far!
